Toxic mold devastates family, causes myriad health problems

  1. Not only is this a tragedy for the spotlighted family, but think how many OTHERS are experiencing the same or similar health problems and haven’t a clue that mold is the culprit.

This is the kind of “news program” that needs to be covered by every station throughout the U.S. But of course, the chances of that happening are next to nil. MUCH more important to talk about politics!

      1. Of course it’s difficult to find. One must literally tear out walls. But doesn’t the health of a family or an individual take priority? Of course one would hope that the severity isn’t as bad as this family! I mean, VERY few would have the resources that they had.

Even so, their ongoing health issues would most likely have reached similar totals if they hadn’t found the problem.

        1. Hello Nan. Yes you are correct and I agree. We have had it before in this home. We might have it again underneath. Right after we bought the home we found the shower in the master bedroom had been leaking inside the wall for years. That was the first wall we ended up ripping out. The problem is every time we think we have it fixed we have found more. After hurricane Maria we had water so high it soaked the insulation under the floors in the area under our bedroom on one side. We took the wet insulation out, bought a fancy power sprayer and jugs of stuff to treat the area. It was supposed to kill any mold or other harmful stuff. Recently as you know we have reason to suspect we may have a problem underneath the place again. Not sure yet. Thinking of having a company come in to tear the underside out and put in new insulation and vapor barrier. But that is seriously expensive. Between 8 to 10 grand. Hugs

By the way just threw together the second bread mixture of the day. My new bread maker has a wide square up right pan. I love the upright pan kinds, but did not realize how side this one is. So the loaf is squat and fat. The bread is great but you only get about 8 slices from a loaf, so I must do two loaves at a time when making bread. Tire out, back doesn’t handle standing at the baking counter anymore. Hugs

            1. Nan one of the things I love most is watching Ron when the bread comes out of the pan. He is so impatient for it to cool enough to cut. I made a loaf yesterday and he cut it while it was still hot, and ate half of the loaf, each slice dripping as the butter melted into it. He looked so cute, like an eager kid full of delight. Hugs
