    1. Hello Nan. Makes me wonder. A while ago I admitted that facts don’t get past these people’s shields. But I thought reason could. I felt if you engage their brains in following a sequence they would have to see it or start to see the end of the sequence. you and others felt that was unreasonable and incorrect. And I admit I have not had to do it in person just online as with Covid I see few live people. But you maybe right, people like this are unreachable if you cannot find a common starting point. to use reason there has to be a starting point both can agree on. Such as Jan 6th happened. But if they deny that such event even happened there is no going further.

      I admit I cannot understand wanting or trying to live my life like that. So deluded, so forcefully ignoring reality, ignoring the rain as it soaks my clothing. I cannot understand it. Hugs

    1. Hello Shelldigger. Yes that says it all. But seriously I don’t talk to these people online, I simply don’t see people in person now since Coronavirus, and I am OK with that. I do talk to a lot of people online including the maga cult members. I used to be able to talk with them, find something common and agreed, and move forward to make a point. Not that they would renounce maga but they would see the reasoning. But the last couple months they have hardened. There is no give, no accepting reality at all. They don’t accept anything that they disagree with, not history, not financial, not daily living, not even death. It is so frustrating. If they disagree with something, then it is a conspiracy against them no matter how convoluted or unlikely. Also everything centers around the US, around their community, around their maga cult leader. I have given up using the vaccines worldwide as evidence they are not dangerous because I get hit with prove it, prove the vaccines are used elsewhere that Biden cannot mandate them. No source is good enough, it is made up, wrong, it is a conspiracy to help Biden. And so on, again and again. Hugs

        2. Hello Nan. I think it is more than that. I am discouraged over the climate change issue. I am directly affected by it. Our mobile home park backs up to natural wetlands preserve going to the Caloosahatchee River. They tell us every hurricane the water surge will be up to our roofs depending on where it comes in. During Maria it did come up high enough to flood the insulation on the bottom of our home, and we got home days after the hurricane went by, so how high did it get? We don’t think it came in the windows, but it could have been up the walls. So if sea water levels rise our park is going to be one of those to be threatened. Every graph I checked shows our area underwater in the future as sea levels increase. But here is the thing. I really want the powers that be to fix this, but I don’t have the energy to fight it. I have to find a way to pay for our medications, for our food, for our lot rent ( we own the home but not the land ) the car payment, getting a new car, Ron just found out he needs to make at least one if not two more trips back up to NC to fix an issue with his brother in the nursing home, find money to buy presents for those I care for and the list goes on. I have been in shaky health for years, Ron’s health is getting bad which is shocking for the strong do anything fix anything guy who was only 32 yesterday and woke up today 69, and so I am tired. I can only save so many causes. Personally, I cannot do more to save the planet, and I cannot force Manchin to even give us lower drug costs so how do I get them to save the planet against their personal incomes? It gets so frustrating to almost make a person give up, many do. Ron cannot beat his head into the wall like I do so he simply won’t follow more than the headlines and watches fun stuff and TV / Netflix series. The point is they have stacked the deck so badly they always win, so how many times do we keep getting back up to lose again? The Democrats don’t realize how much this year long in the public eye fight with each other has hurt them. I see them as unable to do anything, I see Biden as weak and unable to be forceful with the Manchin’s and Sinema’s. If he cannot bring them inline how do we think he will take on the Republicans? McConnell will kick out his cane and beat him with it. Even if they get something out of this the Democrats lose because everyone knows it is scraps, they started at 6 trillion and got … nothing? So if they get 1 or 2 trillion they still lose. Plus Biden being in the Senate for 30 years where this stuff is normal to take a year to shit or get off the pot is normal doesn’t seem to have the understanding that people want to eat the food, not see it killed and prepared at their table while they wait to eat. Well that is my thoughts on why most people are just unable to get worked up about climate disaster we are in. We are just trying too hard to make it, to survive daily to fight the corporations that need to be the ones to change. The fact is no matter what the individual does it makes no difference now. It is really only at the corporate level that this can be fixed. And they are not willing to give up a cent of profit to save the environment we need to live. Hugs
