DEFINITELY one of the first two. The third one is a possibility. NONE of the rest!
P.S. Am I allowed to say that I don’t care for the long hair? I know you do and of course that’s what counts, but …. 😖

Hello Nan. Yup your allowed. I know you understand why the long hair is important to me, but I don’t know if others are aware so I will repeat it here.
I had an abusive childhood where I was the target of anger and abuse in the home. I was adopted so I was different, I was not one of the brute father’s hell spawn so I never had the rights or privileges the hell spawn had. They could grow their hair as they wished with only minor explosions of anger over it. They controlled their bodies with few beatings, I had no control or say over my body. Even in Jr high school my clothing I was to wear were picked out for me, not just bought but I was actually told I would wear these pants, these shirts, this pair of … You get the idea, I had no control and no say. I was required from the time I was a toddler until I left the home to have short hair, very short hair. During my first few grades my hair was basically military boot camp cut buzzed right off with clippers. By the time I was 12 I was allowed to grow my hair out into a part on the side, high around the ears short style. I was allowed more hair in the army than I was growing up. For my grade school years the angry brute cut it himself, often leaving me with uneven hair including gouges and bald spots. Then about fifth grade he would take me to the barber and tell them what to do and watch, telling them to cut it shorter if he was unhappy. In my mid teen years, 15 or 16 I was allowed to go to the barber myself but if I got home and it was not short enough, there would be hell to pay and I had to either go back and get it cut again or he would buzz it off. I also paid for my haircuts which was another humiliation, I was forced to pay for the haircuts that would make me the target of bullying. During my school years I was bullied and teased about my hair, something I had no choice in. That was the point the angry brute wanted. He wanted to mark me as different, not his and not worthy as his were. That the other kids used it against me was great for him. When I had jobs that required it I have kept my hair short. But when I was no longer required to cut it, I let it grow in a sign of defiance, that I can do what I wish, and I have control over my body. That is why the long hair is important to me. Later if I remember I will post a few pictures of me as a kid. Scottie

I understand, Scottie. But long hair is NEVER going to make up for the abuse you suffered. And in many ways, it can make you a target of a different sort in today’s society.
But of course, you are you. And you must do what makes you happy and healthy.

Hello Nan. It is not about making up for the abuse. It is about taking back control over my body. It is about having the control of my body. I can decide now. And having that control, that right to decide is so delicious to me. I have grown it out and then cut it shorter. Ron thought I would have it cut when the vaccines came out. But I think I will see how long I can get it.
Does it make me a target? Maybe. But I don’t think so. But when we first moved into the park in 2004 for the first year or two I had old men come up to me in the rec hall demanding I get a haircut, and it was not even shoulder length back then. I was 40 and these older retired guys hated my over the ears hair / collar length hair. They accused me wanting to be a girl and shit. I gave it right back to them. Over the years those types of people left or died off. After a couple years no one said anything bad about my hair no matter how long or short, we had proven we were an openly gay couple that wouldn’t take shit or back down from assholes. I have to tell you that when I do go out I don’t notice any stares or hear any comments about my hair. Most people are focused on masks, worn or not worn. I did have one person ask me at the grocery store if I was growing it out for the hair for wigs for cancer patients programs. She thought it was a nice thing. I hated to disappoint her but told her I was just growing it long because I liked it that way. I have been waiting for someone to say something because I will ask them if they are Christian? If they say yes I will remind them of Sampson. If not I will ask them how they feel about the founding fathers and remind them that all of the founding fathers either had long hair or wore long hair wigs. Scottie

Hi Scottie;
I like the 3rd, but need to crop just a bit on the sides. And, Nan and I disagree…. I like the long hair. My brother the hippy!! Love it!

Randy, you and Scottie need to get with the program. It’s almost 2022. The 60’s are long gone!

Uhm Nan. Have you looked around and on TV. The long hair and beards are everywhere. One reason I shaved my beard off a while ago was because it seemed everyone had one these days. And long ones. 😎🧔 Scottie

No, I don’t see what you’re referring to … but then, I’m an “old fogie” who tends to look at things from a different perspective.
BTW, one thing I have seen is some REALLY weird things that guys are doing with their beards. If you were to grow yours, would you do the same because it’s all around and “on TV”?? Hmmm?

Hello Nan. It may not be your age but that we see different things on media and we live in greatly different areas. Even Ted Cruz tried to grow a beard because it was the in thing. Use to be the clean shave clean cut look was a must for political office, but that has changed. Weird things? A weird thing with hair is the man bun. Ron wants me to do it, but I hate the look of them. I was just reminded of the 1990’s stubble look, I hated that. I wouldn’t bother to grow it if I had to look like I was on a three day work break and did not shave during it. Not sure what weird thing with beards you are talking about but I struggle to trim it well now, doing designs in it would take me forever and last about a week until I got tired of that. Best wishes. Type in “strange beards” into Google Images and you’ll get a glimpse of what I’m talking about. And I’ve even seen pictures of ones stranger than these! It seems that for a certain element of young men, weird beards are “the thing.”

Hello Nan. Oh I see. Well the young have the patience I don’t have. As I said my trimming is hard enough with just the simple beard lines, the rest of that is way above my skill or desire. Scottie

On a side note, I let my butt hair grow so long I have to braid it to keep from tripping on it. Some have told me that when I walk backwards it looks as if my bearded face is peeking out from my back pants pocket. Oh, the silly things I’ve done and do for attention these days. 😂

Did you look at the pictures on Google? Some of the “beards” are not in the usual place!

Hello Randy. I agree, that would make a nice head shot. But I realize this morning looking at them I seem tired, worn down. I am not even trying to smile. The eyes look dull. I will have to work to fix that and build up my energy again. Thanks for the suggestion, I will change the avatar soon. Scottie

Hey Ten Bears. I have a problem growing my beard long. It is my husband. He likes my beard, but likes it short. I like it long and full, I say if you’re going to grow a beard then do it right. But he dislikes that long beard look. As he is the one who kisses me it is important to keep him happy on that score. But I plan to slowly let it grow out until he complains. On the first couple of pictures, I just wished I have closed the blind. The old home on that side is not the prettiest home in the park. Scottie

Ah Randy, you do remember the Christmas video I sent out one year when my beard was long flowing and white. Your dad replied he got a Christmas video from Santa. 😀😃😄😍 Scottie
