Students in Florida could soon observe a “Victims of Communism Day” under a measure OK’d Thursday by a House subcommittee. Under the proposal (HB 395), government and public schools would begin observing “Victims of Communism Day” on Nov. 7, 2023. The measure would require public school students to receive 45 minutes of instruction on communist leaders and the suffering of victims under their rule.
Mao Zedong and the Cultural Revolution, Joseph Stalin and the Soviet System, Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution, Vladimir Lenin and the Russian Revolution, are among the leaders and topics listed in the measure. The House Secondary Education and Career Development Subcommittee unanimously passed the proposal. Republican Rep. David Borrero of Sweetwater is the bill sponsor.

And most unfortunately, multitudes of people believe this because MOST of them have NO CLUE of the Republicans’ modus operandi for running the country.

Hello Nan. Yes the average person has little idea of the misinformation campaigns of the political parties, both parties do. The real government is run by civil servants. The average person has no clue what runs the US and how corrupt a front the politicians are. What I mean is that if you need a service or government help the average person contacts a local office. Only the wealthy get to contact the congress person and have them work on what you need. The rest of us do what I just had to in order to get my drivers license renewed, call the Social Security Adin office, call the state DMV, call the local social security office. Then do all the steps my self and mail stuff in, hope that the mail is not seriously screwed up. The wealthy just call congress person X and have them presser the office in charge to get what they need.
All that aside, this country needs to teach civics again. It was stopped because too many poor people knew their rights and were protesting mistreatment. People cannot protest losing what they did not know they have. Plus how much easier is it to get outrage against tech companies going because they are violating your first amendment rights by removing you from their platforms for violating their terms of service that the government makes them have … yes that first amendment that protect your speech from government interference is some how something tech companies are doing? Say what? If people were taught civic in school they would know that the right the right wing media wants to get you angry at only applies to the government, not twitter and Facebook. Last I checked Facebook and Twitter are not the government, but maybe they are? Scottie
