  1. DAMN! Every so often I try to watch him, but I just can’t stomach his “style.” I’ve probably said it before, but he just comes across to me as the “good ole’ boy” that wants to share his personal opinion. Nope. I’ll take Brian Taylor Cohen over this guy any day!

I know. I know. To each his own. 🙂

    1. Hello Nan. I understand. There are some voices that I either struggle to listen to or just cannot, the sound of their voice grates on my nerves. Anna Kasparian is one of those. There is a guy on YouTube that both Ron and I love his content but his face is so weird that we cannot watch him. Christo Aivalis. Having said that I try to focus on the news or content of the videos, but I agree that some people are easier to get the message than others. I especially like if the person has a background or knowledge of the subject they are talking about rather than just regurgitating something they heard or read.

      1. Most definitely that last part you wrote!!! But that seems to be the “standard” among many of the videos that I’ve come across. IMO, many of these people just like hearing the sound of their voice and seeing themselves “on camera.” Very often, what they’re “presenting” can easily be found with a bit of Google research.

        1. Hello Nan. I think there has been a shift over the last five years in how people consume information. There is a lot less written media and more video of what used to be written. With the exception of the Atlantic and The Washington Post most news articles are much shorter than they use to be. I have gotten to the point where I don’t like to wade through a really long Post article just for the background information. I like short concise articles that if I want more information, I can look for it like you say. But I find that when I google search I am getting more and more videos, even on pages with the written story there is almost always a video now.

          1. Oh, I’m not surprised about an increase in videos. For several reasons (one being what I mentioned before), including the fact that it’s easier to watch and listen then to read and digest.

But as I’ve said before (many times), rarely do I like to “sit and watch” and wait for the speaker to get to the point. When I read, I can scan and move on … or read and digest. MY choice. See the difference?

But as always … to each his/her own. Yes?

            1. Hello Nan. Oh yes I agree. You might not realize but I also like the written articles better. But I just don’t like them so long my eyes glaze over. The videos have their place but sometimes I get more the bias of the person talking more than I get information about the subject.
