#WorkingPoor #Empathy, let’s actually do something about it. For over 40 years the rich get richer, for 20 years a tweet or post mostly helps billionaires. #FollowTheMoney

And yet rather than spend money fixing the electric system to ensure that the power stayed on, Abbot instead shifted state money to pandering gimmicks like finish building the wall on the border. In fact the big money donors from the fuel and energy industry gave large donations to stop any requirements that Abbot had talked about implementing to keep the power on. Now again in winter with freezing temperatures the power is again going off. They made no effort to fix the very issues that happened before and were told would happen again. Seems they care far more over their personal finance than the health and welfare of the people that elected them

What is horrifying is the change in the Republican party that went from saying “Better dead than Russian red” to praising Putin and supporting Russia. Russia under Putin is still as authoritarian as it was under communism. Russia under Putin is still as much an enemy to the US and democracy as it ever was.

Misleading right wing media cartoons / memes

Lisa Benson Comic Strip for February 04, 2022

This cartoon author is one of the right wing misinformation cartoonist normally but in this case I agree with her.   The Chinese government has shown they will crack down on anyone who says what they don’t like even if done by the athletes.  The big scandal in the comment section of the page is over Nancy Pelosi saying the athletes should be care and watch what they say to keep themselves safe, and she blasted the Olympic committee for picking China to host them.   The right wing commenters can not seem to understand why she said these things and are attacking her at the same time they are attacking China.  So it doesn’t matter what she said, the fact is them must scream in anger about anything she says.

Oh boy the right wing media is on fire over trying to make Whoopi the worst racist ever.  Why?  Because she is a left leaning black woman.  They are drooling to attack her, it is a dream come true for them.

Soon to be an “NFT” owned by a wealthy person

    1. Hello Jill. Thank you. I really try to have a mixture for everyone. Some political, some happy, some to ponder, some for other countries. What started out as me just hitting the morning funny pages now has grown to almost 400 web sites and takes 6 to 8 hours a day during the week and at least 4 hours on the weekend. This morning I started the round up at 4 AM and got it done at 8:30 AM. Tue through Friday is the longest days. But I love it, I love the cartoons. I love looking up the information for the misleading right wing media. I hope others can use the information I write out debunking the cartoons.

Lately I have been getting really tired. I am sleeping half of the day or more and all night. I have blood work this week to see what is going on, if they can. So how are you doing. I was really worried about you. Was it your heart? I am so glad you are feeling better. You do such great posts. Best wishes

      1. I was truly amazed by the diversity of subject matter and the volume of material. I can easily believe that it takes you 6-8 hours to gather all that!!!

I’m sorry to hear about your exhaustion and hope your doctor can figure it out and take care of it, although my faith in the medical community is largely diminished after my own troubles. I’m doing okay … not great, but hanging in. I’m able to at least walk into the kitchen and do a few things now without passing out. Yes, it appears to be that my heart has an abnormal rhythm. I had to cancel last week’s appointment with the cardiologist due to the ice storm, but will re-schedule it soon. Hang in, my friend, and be well! Hugs

        1. Jill — just a side note. My other-half also has arrhythmia. It put him in the hospital several years ago and he’s on all sorts of medication to keep it under control. Unfortunately, a recent electrocardiogram indicates it’s reappeared. He’s scheduled for an echocardiogram so docs can look more closely but it’s not scheduled until April so it would seem they’re not too concerned. Thank goodness!

          1. Thanks for sharing that, Nan! Makes me feel a bit less of an anomaly! I wonder about the long wait for his appointment, for the other day I read that cancer and heart patients are sometimes being pushed back due to the surge in Covid hospitalizations. Personally, since most of those hospitalized with Covid are anti-vaxxers and have done this to themselves, I think they should have to be the ones to wait. Question: does your other half tire very easily and get shaky & dizzy if he’s on his feet too long? I’m doing better, but still … I’m nowhere near as strong as I should be, as I was before September.

            1. We talked a bit about your case last night and he says he thinks you may have a slower than normal heartbeat whereas his was waaaay too fast (120 beats/min). He had an ablation procedure to get thing somewhat back to normal. He does seem to tire a bit quicker, but doesn’t generally have the other symptoms you mentioned. The thing is, he also suffers from severe (childhood) asthma, so that also comes into play.

You may be right about the delay. But also, he’s a vet and sometimes the VA moves a bit slow. 🙁

Hang in there. And don’t push it. Unfortunately as we “mature,” things move a bit sloooowwwer.

              1. Is the ablation procedure you refer to the same as a Cardioversion? I was supposed to have had one of those in early December, but my potassium was too low so it was postponed. I still haven’t had it, and now have to see the cardiologist again before he’ll re-schedule it. Sigh. I’m so sick of medical appointments, of my arm looking like I’ve been in the worst fight ever, and of being tired all the time. Yesterday I was angry, so I forced myself to clean the bathroom, vacuum the living room, cook supper, and fold laundry by which time I was so wiped out I didn’t even have a voice left! Sigh. Like your other half, I have had severe asthma since before I could even walk, along with some other health problems, but this one may well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Thanks for your encouragement, Nan … I do appreciate it! Hugs!

              2. Jill … this is what I read on the internet about the two procedures. In short …

A cardioversion is more of a reset than a cure for the problem. An ablation modifies the tissue in the heart to prevent future arrhythmia.
