I saw notice of this in my daily email newsletters, as well as on my phone’s “news” app. It just turns my stomach that this action might actually go into effect. After almost 50 years of millions and millions of women being able to make choices about their OWN BODY, it could all be overturned by (potentially) FIVE individuals.

And yet, Americans seem to be more worried about Mr. Potato Head’s penis, the color of M & M’s, and the “fact” that hundreds of millions of transgendered people are raping and mutilating people’s genitals in restrooms throughout the land– In reality, it’s only about 7 or 8 million people this has happened to, not the hundreds of millions Fox News reports on :). I pity the young people in this nation for what it will be in 40 or 50 years. To quote, of all things, Star Wars, “So this is how democracy dies–with thunderous applause.) Sad, dark times are looming.

Hello Jeff. In 40 or 50 years this will be a religious theocracy based on the 1600 society rules. I just learned that there are really groups out there that thinks that is when society was the greatest it has ever been and everything after that should be destroyed and wiped away. Know who one is … Steven Bannon Yup him and the billionaire family that bankrolled him wants to take society back to the 1600s. Of course, they will be the rulers and we all will be serfs to them.

Hello Nan. Five very religious people deciding on their ideology vs the constitution. How can anyone have any rights if they do not have the right over their own body? The spirit the country was founded on was life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Not to find god. How can you have any liberty or happiness if your body belongs to another who can decide what you can do with it and with whom?
What stuns me is this has been a long time coming and the warnings were there. The right / religious groups have been chipping away at the right the same as they have been gay anti-discrimination and same sex marriage rights. When McConnell refused to even hold hearings on Obama’s SC nominee elevating the senate from advice and consent to choose the nominee or if they will get a hearing, there was no uprising. When tRump was running against a woman it was warned the judges he would put in might do this. But people turned their back on Hillary. When the Democrats had majorities for decades in government they did not pass laws cementing a womans right to her body. Now it is far too late. Soon the religious right will come for the gays and the rest of the LGBTQ+. And all because the right for a belief in a myth is more important that the real life of a person.
