Let’s talk about new developments from Uvalde and policy….

This video puts to bed a lot of the myths about school teachers and also talks about the fact that the police also had AR-15 weapons and still did not try to shoot the gunman, because they were afraid of hitting a student.   Think of a teacher with only 24 hours training being asked to do with a pistol what a trained police officer with an assault type weapon found too dangerous.    Good video on the subject.   Hugs

  1. I watched this … and IMO, he didn’t really say anything more that any common sense person would say. He just happens to be someone who makes videos … and puts into words what others feel.

    1. Hello Nan. I partially agree. He does say what people with the information and common sense would say. Which is why he is saying the opposite of what we are hearing from the Republican officials and the office holders in Texas, why we are hearing different information and advice from the police that he shows won’t work, and why the rabid right are pushing the myths he is knocking down. Nan you may not care for him, but he is refuting the right wing talking points such as arming teachers is the solution, better guns for police is the solution, and that a good guy with a guy is the solution. But yes I think he also is good with words. Hugs

      1. Of course he’s saying the opposite … or you wouldn’t be watching his videos! And sure, he’s refuting the right wing talking points, but again, that’s why you like him.

-IF- … the ones who support the “right wing talking points” would watch/listen, they might learn something. But I doubt any of them even know he exists.

  2. Excellent video and he is spot-on! Here in Ohio, not only are they planning to arm teachers, but they have reduced the level of arms training for teachers to … I think 4 hours. I see disaster ahead. Thanks for sharing this one. Hugs

    1. Hello Jill. I agree. I was stunned when your governor came out with that. Even the police were against that. I cannot imagine a teacher with everything going to hell around them even remembering to find, load, and start to use the gun. I just want to know if teachers will have immunity from lawsuits like cops do? If sued who defends the teachers and who pays for any losses? This has too many unknowns. It is just an attempt to stop the calls for real gun reforms. Hugs

      1. I was stunned, too! I thought it was the dumbest idea I’ve heard from Mike DeWine. Overall, for a Republican, I’ve always considered him to be a moderate with some good sense, but this … is ridiculous! I’m just so thankful that I don’t have children or grandchildren in school anymore! I’m betting that within 3 months after this is put into effect, there will be a catastrophe in a school involving a gun. Sigh. Hugs
