“U.S. President Joe Biden said in an interview aired Wednesday that he would be willing to go to war with Iran to prevent the country from obtaining a nuclear weapon, a position that drew condemnation from advocacy groups and foreign policy analysts who questioned the moral, strategic, and legal bases for such a stance.
Biden also reiterated in the sit-down interview with Israeli broadcaster N12 that he is committed to keeping the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Terrorist Organizations list, even if it means sinking the prospects of a deal to revive the nuclear accord that former President Donald Trump violated in 2018.
While acknowledging that Trump’s decision to abandon the seven-country deal was a “gigantic mistake,” Biden said he would not delist the IRGC to advance nuclear talks that have hit a wall in recent weeks.
Biden offered a one-word answer—”yes”—when asked whether he would keep the IRGC on the terror list “even if that means that kills the deal.””
He’s not thinking clearly. Another indication that he needs to be put out to pasture.
P.S. I’m basing my comment on what you posted because I actually know absolutely NOTHING about this situation — nor do I want to know so please don’t respond with a detailed explanation!

Hello Nan. OK no detailed explanation, but a short one. Money. Lobbyist. One of the most powerful lobbying groups to congress is the AIPAC. The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel. The largest pro-Israel lobbying group is Christians United for Israel with over seven million members, which also has the same goals basically as the AIPAC. Again money. End short explanation. Hugs

ALSO religion! When I was in church, Israel was looked upon with great admiration since they were the “original” people of God. So although $$$$$ is ALWAYS involved in ANYTHING nowadays, from the religious aspect the country/people are still “special.”
Thanks for the condensed response.

I think this is irresponsible, Scottie. We had a good anti-nuke deal with Iran that trump destroyed. The world became less safe as a result. Biden has been trying to salvage some deal bc, as he said, “the only thing worse than an Iran without nuclear weapons is an Iran with nuclear weapons.” And it’s been demonstrably true that Iran has been a threat in many countries. Biden used the words “as a last resort”—possibly hoping he could move the Iranians to the peace table. Note: Israel has always opposed such a deal.

Hello Annie. I agree with you 100%. Sadly there are big money lobbying groups and other influential groups that make what you and I want unimportant to the political powerful.
Until we change the political landscape, I am not sure how we fix this situation. We also have to acknowledge that Iran is a country with its own wants, needs, and goals sperate from the US and to them as important just as much as ours our to us. I think the old idea that has been in play for the last 100 years that the US demands and other countries obey has to stop being the mind set the US operates on. It no longer works. Iran is going to get the nuclear weapons, and so is North Korea. Unless we are willing to start a third world war we had better find a way to work with both countries. We need engagement not threats and demands. Hugs
