Top FL Official Sows Distrust Of Monkeypox Vaccine

“It’s just kind of remarkable to see some of the headlines — the headlines that very clearly are trying to make you afraid of monkeypox or fill-in-the-blank.

“You know, because if you’re not afraid of this there will be something else after that and something else after that.

“These people are determined to make you afraid and do whatever it is they want you to do. And I hope that more and more people choose not to do that.

“That being said, you should know that there’s actually very little data on this vaccine.

“Believe it or not, there’s actually less data on this than on COVID vaccines.” – Florida Surgeon General Joseph Lapado, speaking at a press event alongside DeSantis.

Ladapo, who has refused to disclose his own COVID vaccination status, is affiliated with the far-right anti-vax group, America’s Frontline Doctors.

Early this year the Florida Senate approved him as state surgeon general despite reports that he lied about having treated COVID patients while working at UCLA’s hospital.

During his confirmation hearing, he repeatedly refused to say if he believes that COVID vaccines are effective.

Once again: CRT, Mr. Potato Head, vaccines, trans girls in sports, BLM, immigrants, teachers, masks, Big Bird, saying ‘gay’, mail in voting, women controlling their own reproduction, etc. etc. etc.

Gov. Death-Sentence has shown us who he is. Believe him.

He doesn’t care who lives or dies.

No medical ethics at all. Instead of losing his license to practice, Florida makes him into this vulgar parody of a surgeon general.

Florida – you’ll come for the climate. You’ll stay for the diseases.

  1. What the@#$&, how can the state put someone who’s, so, totally, distrustful toward the vaccines on the committee that’s in charge of, everybody’s, health??? Especially now, there’s, a new virus that pops up, every couple of, months to a year.

    1. Hello taurusingemini. That is the point. He is in that position because he denied Covid and the vaccines. He is a liar and a flake who works for frontline doctors that prescribe Ivermectin for Covid. The reason that the governor of Florida pushes this line that there are no health emergencies and health problems in Florida is because Florida depends on tourism for income. The tax base gets a huge boost as do local economies when tourism is in full swing. So to get people to come to Florida he claimed that Covid was not a thing in Florida. Now he is taking that line with Monkey Pox. The health of the people in Florida means nothing to DeathSantis, he wants money and power, and acts like he is a feudal lord with a kingdom. Hugs

    1. Hello Roger. It is not just votes but that is part of it. He wants money which the state gets from tourism and he thinks he is so powerful that he can push the US government around. He gets maga credit every time he attacks the Biden administration even when he is wrong. Hugs

      1. He is displaying a short term vision Scottie. Right now he has a moderate Whitehouse to deal with.
I am reminded of a story about LBJ I can’t find the exact details of names etc but it runs like this.
LBJ was trying to get a bill through and in one case lost out. Being LBJ he knew which Senators he had been depending on had changed sides.
He challenged one who apologised but said he had been finally convinced to change his vote by reading a column in a newspaper.
‘Fine,’ said LBJ ‘Next time your state wants funding for that dam (sic) project ask …(name of columnist)’
There are folk who are toughening up out there.

        1. Hello Roger. Oh how I wish we had democrats like that now. We do not have any democrats in leadership willing to play hardball. There are some young democrats that have the fire to do so, but senior leadership wont step aside to give them the room to advance. And we desperately need it. The republicans have their firebrands that are getting all the attention and sucking the oxygen out of the room. Hugs
