Believers will say ANYTHING in their attempts to support the Christian faith. Truth/facts are simply unimportant. It’s the “thought” that counts. And getting that “thought” out to as many folks as they can (especially those who are uninformed and don’t care about facts) is vitally important — especially in today’s political climate.

Hello Nan. I have heard / read that the belief by fundamentalists is lying in the cause of promoting their god is not a sin or something bad but approved by god and will bring his blessings to the person. And as you say the facts are not important to these people. The goal is to set the narrative by making the claim and then by repeating it, teaching it to kids who grow up believing it and then teach it to their kids it becomes a reality. The fact is the constitution doesn’t have set asides creating a favored status to Christians and their preferred god beliefs, but the current hyper Christians on the Supreme Court are creating it. Decades from now their forcing god on everyone will be overturned like the Dred Scott decision, but that will take people voting left or Democratic and then the left presidents changing the makeup of the court. The oldest justices might die or retire at any time, so we have to keep the presidency and senate in the hands of the democrats. Hugs
