The incidents included the deadly Club Q shooting, the murder of a lesbian woman at a gas station, vandalism against Pride flags, bomb threats sent to LGBTQ+-associated venues, public protests against inclusive brands like Target, and death threats against doctors and politicians.

“Since many anti-LGBTQ+ hate and extremism incidents go unreported, the true numbers are likely far higher,” the report said.

  1. Part of the trump legacy. He made hate mainstream and somehow acceptable. Why can’t other people just let people live their lives? I don’t bother you, you don’t bother me? Seems simple enough. I physically hurt when I hear things like this. I’m sure the rates of assault and attacks have also increased significantly relating to race, ethnicity and religion in the last–OMG–8 years! (Has it been that long?) And not improving. Is it so hard to not teach hate?

    1. Hello Ellis. Some people are not happy unless they can control others lives. I agree with you, trump opened the floodgates that encouraged these people. He made being a bully fashionable and his thuggish nature gave his followers permission to be as much of an asshole to others as they wanted, and that getting their way was the only important thing. Hugs
