I don’t doubt that the attack on Israel by Hamas is an act of terrorism, but isn’t the denial of basic essentials to an entire population and bombing their communities for the crimes of a few no less an act of terrorism?

Hello Barry. I agree. Plus the mass punishment of civilians is a war crime. When Russia targets civilians in Ukraine the US / world is outraged. Yet when Israel levels entire city blocks with civilians still in the buildings including older people, children, the most vulnerable the US / world is not only silent but supportive. It makes no sense and is wrong at every level. Best wishes. Scottie

So, the, Israeli government would rather that the civilians DIE first, until the requirements are, met, than to, show that hand of, faith. How’s that going to fly with the UN’s, humanitarians???

Hello taurusingemini. Yes. I really don’t think the Israeli government wants the hostages rescued. If they get them back the outrage and impetus for the total destruction of the Palestinians in Gaza. In fact they are bombing the very places that the hostages are being held. When Russia bombs civilian homes, hospitals, schools in Ukraine the US / world is outraged. When Israel does those very same acts, bombing civilian homes, hospitals, schools in Gaza the US / world is silent and supportive. Why is it a war crime when done by the Russians yet acceptable when done by Israel? Now Israel is demanding the UN totally evacuate 1.1 million Palestinians from Gaza in 24 hours after their military destroyed all access in or out of the very place they demand the people leave. I am so upset by the one-sided coverage of this in the US. Hugs. Scottie

If it helps, our local ABC affiliate covered some of this this evening, including showing and making the statement that a hospital with patients was given 2 hours to evac, instead of maybe simply posting guards around. The broadcaster disapproval was palpable. But, a person never knows what they’ll see on TV news these days until one sees it; I’m used to the same thing: Israel OK, everyone else bad. There was a brief exception this evening.
