Only men can decide what women do with their bodies.
If women were allowed to order abortion pills by mail they would retain some measure of decision making.
That cannot be allowed.

But this mail order a-ok?

    1. Thank you, Nan. I no longer have the strength to do the cartoon round up. So what I do when reading comment sections is grab the memes and then save for a few days until I have enough. I am really struggling these days and while I saved all these bell notifications to open tabs, with what I had to do today I am now struggling to keep going, and it is only 3:05 pm my time. I only want to take medications and go to bed, and Ron is struggling to quickly make a supper, so I can do that.

Nan it is hard to keep up online when both my own health issues and the needs of our house to keep going, but I often admit now I fail at the blog, both reading others and worse reading comments. That bothers me more than I can express not getting to comments, I love them.

I got home from my shots and shopping to find Ron had not been doing what I asked and so I needed to bring in the five bags of soda. Then after putting them away, he informed me he needed my help with getting some 4X4s from our storage shed. He fished them out and I carried them to the saws set up in the front of the driveway. My body screaming with every step.

See I can drive my self far beyond what I can stand for short periods. I learned that from years of child sexual / physical abuse. But I pay the price soon after. So in this case I did.

He went to bed, I did the few dishes and sat down to the computers. Then sitting in my desk chair it hit me. I can hardly walk, I am almost in tears. Ron got up and I had everything ready for supper all he needed to do is head it up, but tonight all I really want is a salad, he makes a great salad with the things I like. Then even though it is early and I have over forty new tabs from today I am going to bed, for the night.

I guess this is far more than you wanted as a response. Thanks for the positive feedback. But this is my world now that Ron has aged and lost the ability to be the one that did everything, letting me have the space to not injure my body.

Thank you, and best wishes. Hugs. Scottie

      1. I know your finances are tight, but have you looked into hiring someone to help out? Two injured guys trying to do it all is obviously not working very well. It’s my understanding that Medicare will pay for homecare services. There are some restrictions, but from what you’ve shared, I tend to think you would qualify.

        1. Hi Nan. It would be a great idea but sadly we make just a bit too much for any assistance. For SSI you have to have only an income of about 1,100 a month and no assets, not life insurance, not a bank account, and not even a car. To get Ron’s 75 very poor brother in to a necessary nursing home we had to pay the first months costs of 5 grand, and then apply to SSI, which sent back to qualify he had to give up his very small military payment of like 110 dollars, and then he was allowed only 30 dollars of his Social Security payment, the rest went to the nursing home or such. Ron and two of his sisters send about 30 dollars each a month to cover costs that need to be covered but not paid for by Medicare or Medicaid. Ron and I took a 30 to 35 grand a year cut when he was forced to retire. His Social Security is about a third of his before retirement wage. I who have been on disability most of my life except for trying to go back for four years, make a bit more than he does. After our Medicare and part D payments, we bring home less than 2 grand a month each. Way more than allowed even for medication assistance. Ron uses a diabetic medication we will have to stop, we both had to stop two other medications due to costs. If we did not have the medical costs, we could be much more comfortable. But it is the fucked up medical in this country and the unrestrained capitalism that keeps us to wondering if we will have enough money to reach the day the next one of us gets paid. I get paid the 3rd, his is the third Wednesday and depending on the month / calendar set up it gets pretty close to having about 50 or 100 dollars left. All the bills go up and our income doesn’t. We are going to get a 3.2 percent raise but Medicare will eat that, our lot rent our home sits on will go up another 15 to 25 %, drugs will go up, electric will go up, and along with everything else we will get further squeezed until we simply can not afford to live. Hugs. Scottie

          1. All the bills go up and our income doesn’t. A VERY familiar tune to pretty much ALL of us who live hand-to-mouth.

It’s good that you guys are able to manage. Nevertheless, it sure seems to me that you would BOTH benefit if you could –maybe in some way– rework your finances so you could get some occasional help. Trying to help each other with your various disabilities doesn’t do either one of you any good.

            1. Agreed Nan. Agree! See when Ron was younger, in better health, working the world seemed OK. He took care of me and the house. We were not stingy we helped others, often during the year we would either have a big meal for people we knew were low income or took van loads of people to theme parks / local attractions where we paid for everything including admission, food, extras, knowing they wouldn’t have been able to go without us doing it. I worked for free on a lot of people’s computers because I knew there were very poor people living in the park. I just never thought we would be one of them. Now I am the poor person wondering if I can keep affording to live here? And Ron and I have had to make emergency plans for what to do if the other dies, we can not stay here in our home without both incomes. I admit I never thought life would be this scary / risky in my older ages, a time of life that should be easier than ever. It is in so many other countries, the elderly or disabled are able to live quality lives. But not in the greatest country on earth, where profit is king and capitalism must never be restrained. Bitter hugs. Scottie
