‘Shocking to hear someone say that’: Weissmann on Trump immunity claims reaching new low

Andrew Weissman, former top prosecutor at the Department of Justice, Lisa Rubin, MSNBC Legal Analyst and NBC News Justice Reporter Ryan Reilly who was inside the courthouse join Ali Velshi in for Nicolle Wallace on Deadline White House reacting to today’s hearing in a Washington D.C. courtroom where Trump’s legal team made some of their most absurd claims about hypothetical crimes a President could commit while they are President which could be covered by Presidential immunity.

  1. When you’re paid as well as these Trump attorneys (if they’re ever able to collect their fees!), you’ll say ANYTHING to support your client. Besides, if they didn’t, Trump would probably “put the word out” on them and their families.

    1. Hi Nan. Just as you say, his minions have been ramping up the bomb threats and swatting calls the last week to new record levels. Plus a lot of the lawyers see it as their ticket to fame and fortune. Not so much from tRump but by the hard right wing machine that provides think tank positions, do nothing boards to sit on, and even right wing media which is well sponsored by racist bigoted sometimes Christian billionaires. The Ben Shapiro company The Daily Wire was willing to pay Steven Crowder, the idiot $50 Million dollars which he threw away demanding more. He is a totally racist misogynistic raciest bigot who treated his wife like a third class person and slave. He spews stuff like schools have litter boxes in classrooms to allow cat students to go to the bathroom. Anyway, I am exhausted, got only two hours sleep, was up for 6 hours, got two more. Yes nightmares and bad dreams, Ron woke me several times as I was so agitated and upset my breathing was off, I was struggling to talk, and my arms were waving with my legs kicking. I have my allergy shots tomorrow so I have to catch all the comments I can before bed. Hugs. Scottie

    1. Hi Suze. I agree it seems weird especially when so many of his attorneys have had to either sue him for the money owed or get lawyers themselves as they are charged with crimes. Please see what I wrote to Nan above for the other two reasons I think they do it. Hugs. Scottie
