I posted on this the other day. I was outraged about the sneaky way it was done and how if a left leaning group was to do this, the right would lynch someone. So it is appropriate that I post the follow-up. Hugs. Scottie
Dallas’s ABC affiliate reports:
A Keller ISD school board member announced on Facebook Sunday she will resign from her position. In a post from her now-deleted page, Sandi Walker wrote she decided to resign as a trustee after prayer and conversations with friends and family. Walker added she was proud of what the board had accomplished in her nearly two years as a member.
Walker was one of two KISD trustees who issued apologies amid controversy about an Evangelist film crew from the Netherlands who was allowed into a school and filmed students without the district’s or parents’ consent. The district confirmed this happened on Feb. 9.
The superintendent says the film crew assured them no students or teachers would be visible in their final product. The district says its lawyers have “directed the film crew to destroy all footage it collected or return it to Keller ISD.”
Read the full article. My first post on the incident is here. The evangelical network that hired the film crew recently produced a documentary titled “God, Jesus, Trump.”

Good. That’s the very least she could do.
Hey, I found some things today, and thought you might like to see them. First is (yes, another) news source: https://19thnews.org/newsletters/daily/ . There’s a nice About section, and lots of news. A guy who used to be on Substack writes a newsletter, and posted about 19th News. He’s dependable, and they appear to be, as well. Check it out!
Then, I was appreciating this comic strip right before I decided to come here, though I think it’s past your cutoff time. It’ll still be there tomorrow, if so: https://www.gocomics.com/perry-bible-fellowship/2024/02/20 . I think you’ll like it. Heck, maybe you read it this morning. I’m late on comics today.
On this date in 1942, Norwegian teachers under German occupation pushed back against the nazification of schools. History I hope we repeat.

Have a great evening, Scottie!

Hi Ali. I love the links you send, not that I always like what they say, but that you do it. And I do look them over even if I don’t read the entire thing.
As for cut off time and not getting to stuff, dear wonderful friend, that is my entire existence online now. I have such a list of stuff I never get to that builds up, but for my own mental health I have learned (against all I want to do) to let the longest stuff just go into the other realm. (If the spiritual people are correct I can answer it there.)
I do push my self beyond what I can do and try to beyond what is safe for me to do so. The counter to that is the pain pills and diabetes causes me to shut down even if I don’t want to. Ron watches for that, knows it will happen, expects it. Quite frankly, I am in many ways my own worse enemy.
I will keep pushing, trying to do stuff like laundry, long after I am limping badly and can’t really stand, or do the dishes which would take Ron 30 minutes yet take me almost two hours. If he tries to make me stop I get upset or angry because I … in my head have to prove I can still do stuff.
I know it maybe hard for you or others to understand, but over the years my world keeps shrinking. Mostly now my world is my home and the internet / my blog. I fight every day to keep those worlds. And yes, I normally lose. But it is a good fight, and I get up the next day happy to join that fight again.
That was why I got so upset that all those saved tabs got wiped out. Ron was secretly happy, but I was mortified. To me it felt like someone took my ability to respond away from me.
I realize this strayed far from what you were commenting on. I saved the links in new tabs. I have to keep trying to answer comments, or when I go to bed they will disappear before morning. Hugs. Scottie

Thank you Ali. I love the cartoon, I had not seen it. I wish teachers in red states in the US would refuse to teach right wing racist Christian nationalist ideology. On the link to the 19th news (no idea why they call themselves that) I found several stories including on Nex Benedict I want to read. Hugs. Scottie
