Look at your hands legislators.
There is blood on them.

Hello Roger. Yes I posted several more posts on this. Roger on Jill’s blog, Larry said he was about to stop calling himself a Christian over the hate preachers. It may surprise you to know that I asked him not to, but told him to stand tall and proud for the loving god he felt Jesus was. I suggested he could find many grand Christian groups fighting for the minorities, for the homeless, for the LGBTQIA, and doing all they could to show the right message of your god. As I understand it. I explained I hoped he wouldn’t let the minority vocal thuggish group of haters steal his religion from him.
Surprising from a heathen atheist, right? But Roger there are good Christians, as there are good Muslims, as there are good every other faith. I was in a wheelchair and couldn’t get to my backyard due to a step-down. My neighbor of a few years was having a concrete sidewalk poured. He had them come over and build a ramp down that step for me. He did not have to, and yet just did it. Side note, after he did that I would wheel myself out there in the afternoon, his huge rottweiler would jump the fence between our yards, and this huge beast would crawl up into my lap and we would spend a few hours there. Just when she heard him coming home, she would give me some licks and go back over the fence. When we moved I told him about it because I did not want the dog in trouble with the new people. I was surprised when he told me he knew, and thanked me for giving his dog a friend to spend afternoons with. One kindness created another.
My point is hate kills, these fundamentalist right wing Christians are not only perverting the message of what I was taught god was, but they are killing kids, fomenting hate, helping to spawn more evil. How in the hell is that now Christian to help evil?
Anyway, sorry for the rant, I am raw from posting of all the hate and harm towards gay and trans kids based on something I think the devil would promote, not a loving deity. But then there is childhood cancer so what the hell do I know. Hugs. Scottie

Hi Scottie.
From one Christian I say in all sincerity. May My God Bless You, Keep You and Look To Shine Upon You (that’s one variation of a traditional Christian prayer) for saying that to Larry.
Oh it is very tough at times. As Thomas Paine said ‘These Are Times Which Test Folks’ (Men’s) Souls’.
You are quite right though. These people should not stand between us and our Lord. From the standpoint of a Christian when they are called to good judgement, they will be looked on most severely and called in account.
Yes, again it is tough. Here is today’s reading which we are asked to studying and mediate from :
Matthew 5 43-48
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘You have learnt how it was said: You must love your neighbour and hate your enemy. But I say this to you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you; in this way you will be sons of your Father in heaven, for he causes his sun to rise on bad men as well as good, and his rain to fall on honest and dishonest men alike. For if you love those who love you, what right have you to claim any credit? Even the tax collectors do as much, do they not? And if you save your greetings for your brothers, are you doing anything exceptional? Even the pagans do as much do they not? You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect.’
Tough (there’s that word again) call.
And yet here we are one sincere caring Atheist calling upon a Christian who is being challenged not to renounce their faith. Raises my heart tenfold.
And yes we are all challenged everyday. Child cancer. I can understand how it might be there because of the complexity of Life as a biological ‘thing’ But never say to the grieving parents ‘It is all part of God’s Plan’ I don’t buy into that. (But that’s for another blog / response).
And on last point. Yep, I believe there is a Malevolence- call it Satan / Devil – whatever out there, working in subtle ways to draw folk in. Folk fall for that every time. The thing is to watch out for it working and get out of the grip (And that’s for another post / reply too!)
I loved that story about the rottweiler too. I’ve encountered a couple of them, who were great big softies. I’ll have to show Sheila, she loves dog stories.
Blessings to you and Ron.
Roger & Sheila.
