Recall that in the first few pages of the bible when it starts talking about Adam it says, and I quote “let us make man in our image”. The gender assignment is interpretation, not to mention they right away made “wo-man” … and lay the crux of the meme: they. Out of the gate not only is there more than one but more than one gender ~ where else would they have gotten the idea to make two? We don’t know that God is a diminutive white guy with a big silver beard, nor do we know that she likes fuckin’ as much as sword-fighting, or if *they* lay somewhere between. Or entirely undefined. Entirely beyond our comprehension

So … if you find it necessary to mention God, don’t refer to it as a him: <i>they</i> …

It. They. Them. Their. They’re … That’ll get their knickers in a knot

  Hi Ten Bears. I love the idea. The idea that they could understand the nature of a deity that they claimed was so powerful and all knowing, yet they could understand it … And of course they knew what it wanted, it was just like them having the same wants, bigotries, and views as they did. Their god is more like Zeus and Odin than Jesus.
