Israel carries out new airstrikes in Gaza amid growing outrage

Israeli forces are continuing to push deeper into the southern Gaza city of Rafah, despite growing international pressure over the war and the deadly weekend attack on a tent city. The White House says while the president’s red line was not crossed, it is monitoring developments hour by hour. NBC’s Raf Sanchez reports for TODAY.

These people are trapped in a burning tent caused by the strikes, the injured / death toll is still coming but it is catastrophic because … Israel told these people to go there and they would be safe.  Israel is shooting fish in a barrow, but these fish are humans, Palestinians, and Israel does not count them as human!  Understand what Israel is doing and realize what the end goal always was.  They want the eradication of Palestinian people and the land they are on.  They have killed tens of thousands of them, and they want to kill the rest.  Israel wants Gaza land for itself as even Jared Kushner tRump’s Middle East envoy said the land would make beautiful sea side resorts.   In recent reports we learned Israel military were told to target aid workers and that they deliberately targeted medical people in any role.  The goal was according to the military to stop, prevent, and keep others from helping Palestinians!  When they tell you who they are, believe them the first time.   Hugs.  Scottie

Training materials produced by the Florida Department of Education direct middle and high school teachers to indoctrinate students in the tenets of Christian nationalism, a right-wing effort to merge Christian and American identities. Thousands of Florida teachers, lured by cash stipends, have attended trainings featuring these materials.

According to speaker notes accompanying one slide, teachers were told that “Christianity challenged the notion that religion should be subservient to the goals of the state,” and the same hierarchy is reflected in America’s founding documents. That slide quotes the Bible to assert that “[c]ivil government must be respected, but the state is not God.” Teachers were told the same principle is embedded in the Declaration of Independence.

The next slide in the deck quotes an article by Peter Lillback, the president of Westminster Theological Seminary and the founder of The Providence Forum, an organization that promotes and defends Christian nationalism. The group’s executive director, Jerry Newcombe, writes a weekly column for World Net Daily — a far-right site known for publishing hundreds of stories falsely suggesting Obama was a Muslim born in Africa.

As the piece notes, Peter Lillback is a signatory to the infamous Manhattan Declaration, which calls on Christians to commit “civil disobedience” against LGBTQ rights.

We already know that Alito probably wouldn’t agree to recuse himself on this case and wouldn’t rule against this. Barrett most likely wouldn’t rule against it either since she has been a member of the Federalist Society in the past (the Federalist Society is currently planning to gut the federal civil service of anyone who supports the Constitution instead of an ultraconservative political agenda when another Republican president takes office).
