Hello Roger. That would be epic. I just watched an interview with convicted felon tRump about “How is your relationship with god”. He couldn’t answer it, he is so a egomaniac he cannot conceive of asking god for something, he is god. In his mind it is like him praying to himself.
His weird answer was he felt it was great … because everyone kept telling him “Sir we are praying for you”. and that so many evangelicals voted for him. Yes his answer did not depend on his relationship with god but the god people who voted for him made him right with god ???
How can any Christian or religious person vote for him? He trashes everything Jesus said or stood for. He Is the Old Testament vengeful hate god out for retribution, he is against the entire beatitudes.
But that is who the maga voters, the tRump supporters are. They are not real Christians. They are grievance driven white people who think everything was taken away from them by liberals supporting black people and they destroyed everything they liked by not staying with the 1950s society that made them comfortable. Like who would dream of accepting the queers they used to beat up in school, and who wouldn’t beat the shit out of guys dressed like women, and hookers, what is wrong with cheating on your wife with a hot one right … ? They are right out of central casting for mob families following the mob boss and his crew. There is good news. You are accurate in your assessment of these folk Scottie. Their tipping point being when ‘one of those people’ was elected twice into the Whitehouse.
Their elders were still smarting from the failure to bring Clinton down with their false hypocritical outrage at his private life or Star’s fanatical waste of tax-payer’s money.
Now to get a ‘black guy’ in the Whitehouse was just too much for them- a blatant hysteria which dragged along other folk who thought that somehow Trump was just an unconventional scamp who would shake things up (God protect us from the naïve!)
It is high time for the politically innocent, naïve and complacent to get up and vote, simply against Trump, overwhelm his vote at the polls, drive him out of public and then turn on the rest of the extreme Right in Washington.
If these groups do not combine with the active liberals and democrats, rest assured The Right will come for them as well.

Hi Roger. The right has done several things that make sure working lower income people can’t vote. They make it hard to to vote because working people can’t take time off work, so the right restricts early voting and other ways people that have to work can vote. The right also makes the voting places underfunded and small so long 8 to 10 hour lines form, again making sure working lower income can not vote. Then they flood the right wing media with misinformation that otherwise normal people vote against their own interest.
I often ask why women in red states run by republicans vote for people that want to restrict their rights, that want to make them second class people? I still have no answer except the believe the misinformation and lies told them by right wing media. What about gay people that vote for tRump and republicans … turns out their racist hate and their desire for tax cuts out weighs what they think will happen to them. They have the idea that they will be one of the accepted ones in the new regime. The leopards eating peoples faces wont eat their face right? They seem to lack understanding of history on what happened to their kind under Hitler.
I am dealing with a low information person right now in the comments who doesn’t reason things out and listens to right wing media. He picks up the stuff they put down. It is like a salmon swimming up a waterfall to get through to him on anything. I keep trying, but I sometimes lose patience.
But Roger what worries me is the other side, the side that reacted so badly because a black man became president and now go totally crazy about drag queen story hours. Facts, reality, truth means nothing to them compared to their feelings, wants and desires. Their grievance against others is far more than fact. tRump just announced he was the one who lowered drug prices instead of Biden, which is a flat out lie, republicans who voted against the infrastructure bill that brought money for roads and bridges to their districts now show up to take credit for it … and they right wing voters believe it because they don’t want to see or hear any other news than their right wing echo chamber of restricted arm of the republican part media dispenser. The motivation of ‘They know what they are against, but not what they are for’. Is a common one in Human interactions. You could say it is often the deciding factor in an election or a protest movement. This can be bemusing, it can be infuriating (it is the one reason I have dissociated from the UK Left). The danger is when the basic motivations are Intolerance and Hate which are a combustible mix.
This much is indeed obvious amongst a worrying number of the US Right, what they agree on is Suppression, The Whole Suppression and Nothing But The Suppression. Those who are drawn along by ‘promises’ on lower taxes etc, etc do not see the danger they are flirting with.
There was a tragic example in the 1920s Italy when a portion of the Jewish Community there sided with Mussolini because he sounded good. Mussolini was not particularly concerned with the Jewish Community, and then he got into bed with the Nazis who started to pull the strings and the Italian Jews suffered. The same thing will happen to those who think Trump and The Right are all about lower taxes and good ‘Old Time Religion’ . Trump himself doesn’t know what lurks behind him either, but as long as his ego is fed…..What should he worry?
My own take is a WWII attitude to the campaigning. Folk who are not paying attention should have it made known to them that The Right will come for them, or for those they love or are friends with, and this is not hyperbole. Anyone who wants to re-write slavery out of History and purge books out of Libraries has an agenda, and that agenda does not rest. Unless you are for it, you will be deemed against it.
That’s what the apathetic, complacent and posturing political innocents need to be told.
Unsettle them Scottie, tell them ‘it’ will come for them.
It is a sad day when we can’t just argue about finer points of economics and how to fund infrastructure projects, but fight for the soul of a nation.
