    1. Hi Ali. Yes it is great news but … this is why puberty blockers are so important. It is also why the right is desperate to block them. If a trans person never has to go through the wrong puberty, they look and act the gender they are. The right is desperate to make people assigned male at birth go thought puberty so they look manly, same with the female assigned at birth the same. They want people to have to live with horrible disconnect all their lives. It makes me so angry when the republican fundamentalist Christians say … why can’t they just wait until they’re 19 or 20. They know damn well why, the body damage has been done. Sorry for the rant, I really feel shitty the last few days changing medications. I am only sleeping a few hours at a time, sick to my stomach most days, I can’t wait until this passes and my body adjusts. Hugs. Scottie

        1. Hi Ali. No I am far worse. I have held off telling the viewers what I am going through but … today I am sick, very sick. I had to take extra of the new and an entire one of the old. I am about done. I have struggled for four days with every day my pain levels increasing and my nausea getting worse and worse until I am very ill. Think movies of withdrawals, and I find this unnecessary. Yes Ali I am going through horrible withdraws from one potent drug with no help and then trying to add in a second. The movies of what people go through are near enough to me. The doctors could have made a plan to wind down one and ramp up the other but they just were too busy to actually tell me, take me through this. These are serious medications I take. Ron is advising me to stop, return every thing to the way it was. And argue with the doctors later. Hugs. Scottie

          1. Well, I’m not a medical professional, but Ron is, and I agree with Ron just on a common sense basis. What’s happening is definitely not the right thing, no matter what the dr. thought when they instructed you. They get so overworked anymore, it’s tough to get much from them until after facts. We want you being with us to be the primary fact!

            1. Hi Ali. We stopped the entire thing. I was in horrible pain and throwing up, not able to eat or keep anything down. I went back to my old medications and will address it with the doctor when I see them. Hugs. Scottie

  1. Scottie, I have heard hardcore religious fundamentalists claim that homosexuality is a sin. I have read multiple versions of the Bible online and some of them make no references to the topic. The way I see it, either it was not normal at the time or that there was something lost in translation. While I have my personal beliefs about things, there are some areas in which people are too extreme with their thinking in terms of what their religion teaches.

    1. Hi Ragnar. You almost got it, really you did. Ten years or so ago I was looking into all the scholarly stuff on debunking the bible. I followed a lot of atheist channels from those with doctorate degrees in history and biblical studies to those that focused on the science. I have since broadened my interests because stuff written by people 2,500 years ago simply is not applicable to what we understand today and to me is boring. After all these people thought the sun rotated around the earth and had no idea of germ theory and we today have space craft.

Here is what I found out. The bible has been translated multiple times over centuries. A lot of the words in the King James version are incorrect translations from three other languages. The passage “men shall not lay with other men as they do with woman” was horribly mangled. History shows there was a tradition in that time, remember the society was a mixture of Greek, Roman, and others with Christianity being a small fringe at that time. There was a practice of having many gods, it was a polytheistic society. It was normally to have 15 or more gods, with the tops ones being a mixture of the societies. Each gods priests of course wanted their gods to be the most popular to get the most money / donations. That is why in the new Christian religion their god says you shall have no other god before me.

Here is where your question comes in, what you are asking. In those days, in those societies it was not only accepted but common for young boys, yes little boys to be servants in the temple, and men proved their love for the god by … having sex with the boys. Sorry Ragnar but to put it plainly boys before puberty, little boys were prostitutes in the temples. It was the custom then that even straight men would pay homage to the god of that temple by fucking a little boy and giving their donation proving they loved that god. Look up sacred prostitution if you want more information.

Paul’s issue was not with men having sex with each other but with adult men … well to put it bluntly again fucking little boys to please the heathen gods. He demanded Christians differentiate themselves from that activity. Of course if you know anything about Paul, he was anti-marriage, anti any sex, and thought god was coming back with in a few years. Over centuries and out of context you get what some mistakenly think the Christian bible says about same gender sex as it must be bad. As your self might ask why is there was no woman with women sanctions if homosexuality was the issue. Because it wasn’t. I was about … screwing kids for the god of that temple.

Ragnar not to put to fine a point on it but anti sex Saul who became Paul would have had to … done temple duties regularly before finding Jesus. I think you understand what I am saying. It simply was normal for the times. Apparently he did not like it or find it enjoyable. Hugs. Scottie

      1. Scottie, I really don’t care what 2 consenting adults do within the confines of their own homes. Just keep children out of it and don’t make a spectacle of the sittuation. Yes, that is hyperbole due to the fact that I am sure that no people with any shred of decency would do as much.

ALI REGISTER & VOTE! REDFORD, Mormons abstain from caffeine consumption per religious customs. This might be a slight diversion, however, to put it in context, why is it that there are religious fundamentalists who claim that something governed by genetics, as in something people are born with, is sinful because of what their religion says who want it to be criminalized and yet Mormons who abstain from caffeine don’t want caffeinated beverages banned?

        Liked by 1 person

        1. I cannot answer that question, other than I’m aware that some Mormons consider caffeine to be a drug, and since their bodies are to be temples to God, they don’t want to put a drug in themselves. I cannot answer why they don’t want to ban caffeine for everyone, yet cannot accept their fellow humans as they are. I cannot answer for anyone who cannot accept their fellow humans for who they are. I sometimes worry about myself becoming agitated at people who cannot accept their fellow humans as they are, because getting agitated at them is me doing the same thing.

All I was saying previously was, there is representation for all humans in the bible, but some have to really dig for it, with open minds. Many of those who point to only certain verses to try to bolster their accusations aren’t aware of everything the bible says, even in verses surrounding those they like to pick. shrug

At this point I can add that I’m aware of atheists who cannot accept some of their fellow humans for who they are, so it’s not always religious people. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all just get along with each other?

        2. Hi Ragnar. That is a talking point. It shows you listen extensively to right wing media. If you want to keep posting comments here, you will answer the questions I ask and try to understand the lies you have been told.

Ready, here we go … Keep it to the confines of one’s home and keep kids out of it. Ok so that applies to straight people also right. After all that is a sexual orientation. No indoctrination! No straight couples holding hands, no straight couples pictures of their spouses on their desks, not any of that horrible displays of kissing of mixed couples on TV and in pictures. My god the books we need to purge from libraries and school. Hell no marriages right as that is a sexual orientation indoctrination. Are you getting the point yet? Straight is also a sexual orientation that right now is being forcefully pushed on kids. You hate that right, keep it in the home. Right you don’t want kids influenced right?

Get fucking real, Ragnar. Society is awash with and has been for decades with the straight indoctrination of sexuality. No, what that did not prevent gay kids nor trans kids. You are being fed fucking lies that you swallowed hook line and sinker. Kids were being born who were gay and trans! Yes we are here. When do you think the modern age of acceptance happened when gay couples, gay kids were treated equal to the straights? Not when I was growing up. But guess what. I and entire generations grew up gay and were told to hate ourselves for it. Why. To make straights happy. Every gay kid and every trans kid had straight parents. Fucking think on that. Gay people don’t make gay kids, straight breeder couples do.

So if you want to keep sexuality in the home only, start with the straight people. Until then, me and the millions of people like me demand, not ask, demand equal treatment. If you can do it we can also!

You seem so sure of your right wing talking points that you fail so badly to really think about them.

Now to your reply to Ali which I admit I have not read the lead up to, you really don’t know the history of the Mormons do you. Do you know they tried to form their own country, do you know that when they took what is now Utah they tried to kill all the people that were not Mormon? Do you know again, that they declared war on the US? Learn some history man. Hugs. Scottie

          1. Scottie, I know that Mormons tried that tactic. My only lack of recall, something I will correct with research, is when it started.

Ali, one thing I find to be rather ironic is the fact that hardcore Bible believers do not take the command to not judge or condemn people at face value. “Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned.” It seems to me that most of the hypocrites in society are religious fundamentalist types.

            1. Hi Ragnar. You ignored the first and more important part of my reply. Go back and read it. Keep it way from children. Ok no more hello boys and girls, just hello kids. Oh bathroom time … boys bathrooms and girl bathrooms are gendered …opps so kids just go into any potty room you like. Do you now understand the point I was making. This entire gender / sexuality shit is a gimmick to outrage low IQ viewers of right wing media. Pronouns and gender have been pushed by the straight cis population for all our lives. They just don’t like the push back and expansion they are being forced to accept. It violates their tradition and their Christian ideas. Sorry but the world is evolving, changing, and we are here and demanding the rights for ourselves and for the minors we once were. Hugs. Scottie

                1. Hi Ragnar. Why? Is it opening your eyes to how manufactured this entire “Don’t teach gender or pronouns” thing is? Is it because you realize now it is all about attacking gay and trans kids? It is entirely about enforcing the 1950s social standards of a straight cis society. It has nothing to do with protecting kids, it is about forcing kids to hide who they are and what they feel. Hugs. Scottie

                    1. Hi Ragnar. You are almost correct. What is gender? Gender is a social construct. What you and I take as gender is simply a norm for our society. Do you understand what I am saying? What is gender but … what is a boy and what do boys do and what are girls and what do girls do. Those are social constructs to each society and they change between countries. Do you understand that?

For example if you go to a different country, or even into the jungles of South America and ask them what do girls do or what do boys do, and the answers would be different. If you go to Asia and ask the same question, what do girls do or what do boys do, you would get a different answer.

Now let’s talk pronouns. What do you mean they are a delusion? I don’t feel I understand you fully in what you are trying to say.

Pronouns are a part of the English language forever. It is also different in other languages. But when you say that pronouns are just a delusion do you mean that they are made up? If so … Are you a girl? OK, when you are out in the public, and you need to pee, what bathroom do you go to? See in some cultures it doesn’t matter as everyone uses the same facilities. But here in the US people want desperately to get hung up on other’s private parts.

Ragnar, I love this conversation so please tell me your thoughts and what you are trying to say. Hugs. Scottie

                    2. Scottie, in the context in which I use the phraseology of preferred pronouns, here is what I mean: If I see someone who is clearly a biological male or female, I will address that person by his or her name. If that person is transgender, I might know the birth name of that person and yet know they changed it to fit wih how they seemed to alter their external appearance. William/Lia Thomas is as example. Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner is another. Both are biological males, however, they tried to alter their external appearances to look different than what they are biologically and genetically.

                      Like

                    3. Hi Ragnar. Again male and female is a social construct that means different things in different cultures. What you don’t understand is that if it dangles at birth doesn’t mean that person is male. It is not a hard concept to get. If it is an inside organ it doesn’t mean the person is female. That thinking is from over a century ago. Before medical science learned how to study the chemical soup that makes up humans. biologically the male / female spectrum is a sliding scale. You and I both dangle but we are not both the same on that scale. I maybe more toward the male or the female than you are. You do understand a portion of people who are classified male or female sex at birth have the sexual markers for the other sex. No it is not an anomaly, it is quite common. I have posted on a woman who has several children found out when pregnant for a third that she was biologically a male. Over half her chemical markers were male. Do you know there are more intersex people than there are red heads? Yes it is that common. So please let go of useless outdated information. Hanging on to that is the same as people who refused to accept that the earth rotated around the sun or that it was not flat. Remember when people thought there were sea monsters that now we understand were just normal sea creatures. We expand the information, the knowledge we have.

Let’s look at the trans issue like this. When did you understand you were a boy, when did you feel like a boy? Almost as soon as you recognized mommy and daddy. But some kids don’t feel like the stereotypical boy even when they constantly told they are. They know they are not. And it is a provable medical phenomenon. Gender identity is real, people know if they are male or female. Now Ragnar, you are a boy, you feel like a boy, you want to do things boys do. OK we will destroy those stereotypes later, but go with it for now. You know you are a boy but they tell you that you are a girl. They dress you in girls clothing, make you do what the other girls are doing. You hate it. Then you go to school. There you get the other kids to call you Ragnar instead of Sally, and they do it because they don’t care, but the teacher says no you are a girl so I will keep calling you Sally. Now the other kids don’t know what to call you as they respect the teacher. Now the teacher insists on calling you her, she, girl pronouns, you start to hate school. Now you have to go to the bathroom. You know you are a boy so you try to go to the boy’s bathroom. The teacher catches you and makes you go to the girls room. Now the other kids are picking on you because the teacher makes it clear they are against you. Bang, you hate school and are a target for abuse.

That is happening now in red states. All because some teachers feel it is against their rights to be kind and nice. We had moved past that, we had got teachers and kids to accept their gay fellow students. We had anti-bullying programs. Until a small group of haters for their own religious desires and political / economic gain started a war against trans people / trans kids.

So there is no such biologically and genetically male. And Lia Thomas is a woman. Fully, and chemically. Hugs Scottie

                    4. Scottie, “Lia” had the birth name “William.” She was a male bi birth. Despite the external appearance, William Thomas is still very much a male. Masculine voice and inflection is a significant telling of this.

                    8. Oh Ragnar. The confidence of those that talk about things they don’t know anything about.

Dear Ragnar here is how they decided you were a boy. Someone looked between your legs to see if it dangled or if it did not. Also in the old days, only recently gone, if you were born with a micro penis, the doctors told your parents to give you a sex change and raise you as a girl. Yup. They used to take that new baby and grab its penis, stretch it out and if it did not measure up, if it was a micro penis. Well they would with hold the baby from the parent and chop it off or advise the parent to let them surgically remove it and raise the kid as a girl. In the quote below it says it was rare. Turns out micro penises are not rare at all. One epidemiological study showed that 1.5 per 10,000 infant males were born with micropenis between 1997 and 2000 in the United States. That is a lot of baby boys.

Others, though genetic males, had no penis or had an extremely rare condition called micropenis.

Physicians for several decades had recommended that children in this latter group be raised as girls–thinking based largely on pioneering work done in the 1950s and ’60s at Hopkins, one of the few medical centers in the world that specialized in treating children with such disorders. Common practice in a case of a boy who lacked a penis or had a micropenis was to surgically remove the testes, construct female external genitals, and prescribe female hormones–then send the child home to be brought up as Sally or Susie. To do otherwise, it seemed, was to subject these babies to an unimaginably cruel childhood of locker room taunts and psychological pain, followed by a frustrating adulthood of sexual inadequacy.
Gender reassignment occurred in other cases too, depending on the diagnosis. But in all cases, the standard was to decide promptly whether the infant ought to be a boy or girl and then to be consistent in rearing the child as that gender (a process described in my story “Is It a Boy or a Girl?” in the November 1993 Johns Hopkins Magazine).

                      https://pages.jh.edu/jhumag/0900web/babes.html

So you see Ragnar your idea about trans people and assigned at birth is wrong. The way you get assigned a boy or girl is someone looks at your junk and decides if it dangles enough. Lucky they don’t do that now or in the modern age, and I know guys with micro penises. They’re small but they work, they still feel like a penis feels for a guy, but in the past they would have had them removed and raised a girl.

As for Lia Thomas. She took the proper medications to change her chemical make up, her markers now read a female. Her bone structure is with in female norms. Her muscles are now with in female norms. Her lungs are with in female norms, so she is female. I know you get most of your news from right wing sources or you would have read this in articles about her. Hugs. Scottie

                    9. Hi Ragnar. That may be, but the fact is it exists. That is the point of accepting people who are different and letting them live openly as who they are. Trans people know they were born wrong, and once even social transition starts 96% are much happier in life and suicides go way down. These are facts and supported by medical science.

But it goes against some people’s religious views. And those people want to force others to live by their church doctrines and religious beliefs. That is wrong. It is like being gay and same sex marriage. Openly gay people are much happier when living openly as who they are and being accepted in society. But some religious people don’t like it, it is against their beliefs. OK then they don’t have to have gay sex or enter into a same sex marriage. But they don’t have the right to block others from doing it. All they have to do is be kind to others, not mean and abusive.

Tolerant and accepting societies worldwide are rated as far more happier societies. Draconian social standards of making people fit one model or standard role leads to unhappy societies and eventually people revolt against the authoritarians. Hugs. Scottie

                    10. Scottie, if there are people who are transgender, it should not have to be advertised to the public. Considering the fact that people are naturally born one way or another, any attempt to change gender indicates that they are told that they were born in the wrong body.

                      Like

                    11. Hi Ragnar. What do you mean advertised to the public? Like straight people holding hands and walking around kissing each other. Or women walking around as they are. Your comment doesn’t make sense.

You say that people are born one way or the other and so if they feel different it means they were told so … Ragnar do you know that there are have been trans people throughout history. In the civil war there were many trans people famously serving as surgeons or officers. Before that in the “Wild West” there were many trans people. Tell me who told them they were born in the wrong body? In all societies in history there are trans people … Just who told them? Really, tell me just who told them.

See Ragnar that really is the point. No one has to tell them. Just like no one told me I was gay. Just like no one told you that you were straight and cis. Do you understand that? Did you need someone to tell you that? Trans kids don’t, gay kids don’t either. We know who we are and what we are. Hugs. Scottie

                    12. Scottie, unless someone advertised to me that he or she was gay or lesbian or transgender, it really would be of no concern to me. I just believe that this should not be made an issue on the public stage or talked about by so many people since it is by definitin a personal matter.

                      Like

                    13. Hi Ragnar. You say it is a personal matter, so it shouldn’t be talked about. What a lot of bull. You see straight cis life, heterosexual stuff everywhere. You see it on TV with man and wife families, you see it in movies as main story lines of boy meets girl, you read it in magazines and books, including ones for young kids. Likewise, you start as a kid ready books about Dick and Jane and their mommy and daddy. In schools straight kids hold hands, they kiss, they have books about being straight, straight teachers have pictures of their families … and it goes on.

What you are saying when you say it is a private matter, is you are comfortable with society and you don’t want other people that are different to be happy and comfortable in society. You want them to hide so you are happy. They shouldn’t have to do that. They should be able to live their lives out and proud as any straight cis person. That means in school also. The message you are sending is you think there is something wrong with it, so it should be hidden.

Two guys or two girls should be able to hold hands and it not be out of the ordinary. In fact most of the country accept it as normal.

Trans people. Most of how you and other guys view feminine or femininity is if you think the girl is pretty enough. If she looks enough like a girl she is one. But not all females are pretty and many look masculine. But that is also why puberty blockers are so important to stop young people from developing the sexual character traits of the wrong gender. A boy once they have gone through puberty has a hard time transitioning because they can never accept how they look and many people would not accept them as female based on how they look. Same with girls who go through puberty, they forever struggle with the way their bodies look and transitioning to male is even harder. The ones you never notice are the ones who pass, who had their puberty blocked and then took the hormones of the correct gender. I hope this helps you see it is not a private matter to be hidden but a public matter allowing people to live as who they are, openly and proudly. Just as you do. Hugs. Scottie

                    15. Hi Ragnar. That I can agree with. All but the behind closed door stuff. Until all hetero stuff is “behind closed doors” then the LGBTQ+ should be able to do what ever straight cis do. If they get to hold hands, kiss, be in schools, celebrate their marriages, then so can gay couples. So can I and my husband. If cis people can go to the bathroom of their gender identity, so can trans people. Equality, rights, and freedom for all, or no equality, rights and freedom for anyone. Hugs. Scottie

                    16. Scottie, maybe I should have been less particular. What consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes is not any of the public’s business. Where it crosses the lines is when it is made a spectacle of by news networks. It violates the privacy of the people in the relationship and basically makes it the business of people who should not be concerned in the least.

                    17. Hi Ragnar. Do you realize what you are doing? You’re blaming individuals who are doing nothing wrong for right wing media opinion hosts trying to create outrage by stirring up anger at certain groups. You are blaming the victim. The solution is not to tell gay and trans people to not exist but to not listen to hate mongers. There is a reason they call it that, hate mongering, is it is the action of causing hate about a certain group. Othering. Creating groups of people it is OK to hate.

Do you realize drag queens were never an issue until recently when the right needed a political enemy to get people angry enough to support them. Drag was on verity shows, funny show for decades, famous drag movies like Tootsies and Mrs. Doubtfire, Rupaul has a hugely successful drag queen show for years. Only recently has people wearing drag became a problem. The created an issue for political gain, incorporating fundamentalist religious ideas of puritan values to drive people to vote republican. Think why they do that. They do it because the republicans are losing support and party members. They are dying off of old age and their ideas are extremely unpopular to the broader majority. These people are a minority who want a strict minority only rule. It started with drag queens when the right realized they lost the culture war over gay people, who are now accepted by the majority of people. They needed a wedge. So they went after drag queens saying they harm children … by existing. Think about that, they said the same thing about gay people and it was wrong then, it is wrong about drag people now. It is simply people dressed in costumes, something actors do all the time.

But they used that created hate and anger to go after anything seen as promoting LGBTQ+ like rainbow flags and stickers, books with gay characters or themes, and now claiming teachers are groomers for supporting gay and trans kids rights to exist. All created to stir up hate that was not there before. Driving to make the US a fundamentalist Christian theocracy where only cis straight white people have rights and are seen in society and white Christian males are in charge. That is the goal. If you know about project 2025, in it they tell you that is the goal.

                    18. Hi Ragnar. So you have changed your stance on the issue? If you agree then you realized that right wing media lied and mislead you. When you listen to them maybe keep in mind their tactics and what they are trying to do. Other people and make targets that they can anger people to attack. Hugs. Scottie

                    19. Scottie, I agree with you on the drag queen matter. Maybe I should have been more specific. The issue is when drag queens are made a spectacle of by front page news. If there are drag shows, I am fine with that. The issue is the ridiculousness of people who talk about it in the news.

                    20. Hi Ragnar. That danced around but did not answer the questions I asked, did it. I personally find it worse when Right wing media whip up these gangs of right wing thugs who show up at these events with guns and scare the performers, the adults, and terrorize the kids. That has to stop.

Please answer the questions I asked. Thanks. Scottie

                    21. Scottie, I have a somewhat conflicted stance on this issue. As a matter of personal freedom, I believe that people should be free to participate in drag shows. Heck, I am fine with those being mentioned in The Yellow Pages. What I find distasteful is when I hear stories of kids being subjected to this matter without clear and explicit parental consent.

                    22. Those stories are indeed distasteful! Good thing it doesn’t actually happen, huh? Kids can’t just go in to adult places or theaters without their parents.

                    23. Ali, if kids want to watch drag shows on TV, I don’t necessarily have an issue with that. Some drag queens and performers have expressed concerns about children attending drag shows, citing safety and appropriateness concerns. For example, Eve 6000, a star of Canada’s Drag Race, has asked people to stop bringing their kids to drag shows, stating that children should only attend “designated shows that the cast and audience all knows are going to be appropriate for kids.”

Scottie, up until it hit front page news as a source of conversation, I never really cared if drag shows were a thing. When it started invading the public schools, that is where it went too far.

                    24. Well, but there is parental choice and control. I agree there are places parents should not take their kids. But the initial problem is that the rightwing says kids are being exposed against their families’s wishes or consent. As to invading public schools, I don’t know where that actually happens, but people say funny things when they try to ramp up a mob.

                      Liked by 1 person

                    25. Hi Ragnar. First do you know why she said that? Did the right wing story you hear or read tell you that part? Here is her reason. The full quote.

“Parents need to stop bringing their kids to drag shows that aren’t EXPLICITLY intended for a child audience. Stop. You may not care, but your kid gets filmed and will be used to hurt our community,” the Drag Race star wrote.

but your kid gets filmed and will be used to hurt our community,” the Drag Race star wrote.

Ragnar she was not saying it was bad for the kids but that right wing people … such as yourself, would use it to harm or criticize drag queens. Which you did! Proving her point. But the simple truth is only shows that are age appropriate allow children. They might allow teens, because face it by teen years kids more than well known. Heck most kids understand their sexuality by the time they are 7, 8, 9 years old. Often children know by 4 years old. I did, they learn by being having feelings to the boy or girl, the mommy or the daddy.

If I had asked the 6 year old Ragnar if he was a girl or a boy, he would tell you boy. And if you asked him if he wanted to be the daddy or the mommy playing house, he would say daddy. Kids know. Many people just can’t accept that many kids don’t choose what the adults or the right want them to, they want every child to be straight cis children. But they are not.

Now, let’s talk about the stupid shit of invading schools. First anyone in a school to present has to be invited. Second I do know kids and faculty have put on drag shows for decades as something and for fundraisers. Again it was though of as fun, never a problem until the right and fundamentalist Christians wanted to make it one. But you want to talk invading public schools, what about the push to have the bible in classrooms, the Ten Commandments (only a certain version from a certain bible version. Did you know different Christian religions have different versions of the Ten Commandments) See the real invasion is hard right ideology and fundamentalist religion.

Ragnar you have to star thinking on why this stuff is being pushed now when by your own admission it was never a problem, never an issue. Drag has been on TV since the start of TV, it was in vaudeville, it was done for Halloween. The US and other militaries were doing drag in WW 2 and were doing it when I was in both the Navy and the Army. Drag is nothing more than fun dress up and playacting. The right wants to make it a scandal, but ask yourself why so many high profile right wing figures were involved in it? Including tRump and Rudy Giuliani. Google it. Hugs. Scottie

                    27. Ragnar friend, you did not answer the question. Do you know why she said that right? I read the entire short article, I should have posted the link for you. She has no problem with kids at drag shows. She supports it. She was saying that shows no specifically billed as family friendly events the pictures of kids there are used to bash drag queens. She is asking parents to understand that drag queens are under attack, so please only bring kids to events marked for them. Not all shows are marketed for families but are still safe for families, then there are shows that are more staged for adults. Those are not offensive, but somewhat sexually suggestive. Should younger kids be there? It is fine for teens, but younger kids? But then when you look at what they see on TV, movies, and all … since in these shows no one takes their clothing off it is nothing kids don’t see in movies or streaming. They see and hear it in schools, what the adults around them talk about. Everything is somewhat sexually suggestive and because it keeps adults interested. Plus kids are not stupid. They may not know how the parts work with each other, but there are very few boys who very young understand that rubbing their “toy” feels good. I bet it is the same with girls. Anyway panicking about kids seeing people in costumes suggestively talking / singing / dancing is silly, and the kids will tell you that. They see more explicit stuff in the swimming pool shower / locker room or in gym class. Hugs. Scottie

                    28. Sorry Ragnar, I made a slight typing mistake, I meant to insert a not in the sentence about boys and girls not knowing that rubbing their toys between their legs feels good.
                      It should read.

They may not know how the parts work with each other, but there are very few boys who don’t realize very young understand that rubbing their “toy” feels good. I bet it is the same with girls.

Almost everyone who is willing to be honest admits they played with it as a kid, it feels good. Sadly religious kids get traumatized told they are going to hell for a good feeling in their body.

The proper thing to tell kids is to only do it in private like in their bedroom, and if anyone wants to do it to them or them to others, they should tell their parents or another trusted adult right away. That is the right way to deal with kids touching themselves. But it is silly to think they won’t do it, we all did. Hugs. Scottie

                    29. But as to why you should attend one? That entirely is up to you. Maybe to broaden your horizons, your experiences. By all means watch a few. But it is like any kind of show. Some like it and some don’t. Why go to new kinds of restaurants? Why go to different movies? I don’t understand the question really. But if are curious, then look on YouTube. Check some story hours, check family friendly ones, then check adult drag shows, which again don’t expect anyone to take off their clothing. Remember the point of drag. They don’t take off their clothing because the illusion is the important thing. That is why drag being bad for kids is silly. No one is throwing all their clothing off to be nude or such.

                    32. Hi Ragnar. But see that is where you are wrong and again misinformed. Think about it. At every event the parents took the kids! Tell me Ragnar, do you have little kids? Could the 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10-year-olds go to a drag queen reading hour without you taking them? The parents are there you can see it in the pictures. Same in “Family Friendly” drag shows, the parents are there. So what right do you or others have to tell the parents you can’t take them to that show.

You hear stories …by the same right wing media that lied to you about vaccines, trans kids, teachers with rainbow flags, and every issue they could use to upset the right wing voters. Ragnar this is a made up issue. Drag shows, drag queen story hours have been going on for decades. Heck I remember them in the 1990s. Why in the last few years are they suddenly a problem? Think on it. Hugs. Scottie

                    33. Scottie, I just don’t want to hear media outlets make a spectacle of the topic. If I happened upon a news headline where a story was mentioned about an event but was not talked about non-stop, I really could not care less. Sort of like the gay and lesbian community, I really don’t care how they identify. Live your life as you see fit.

                    34. OK Ragnar. Great, see you at the next Pride Parade! Your phrasing is off, but if that is how you really feel, then all that stuff about kids and schools is gone, right? Every one does their own thing, live their happy life in public living as who they are, out, openly, and proud. Acceptance and tolerance is the way to be. Hell the left has been preaching that since the 1960s.

Plus if you don’t want to hear or see it … simple way to handle that. Change the Chanel. Turn the station. Stop reading the story. Not wanting to have the media in your face with a story is not to make the people they’re talking about stop existing, it is to stop visiting that media. And if you want to see people enjoying diversity look at left wing media, progressive media where all lifestyles even religious are celebrated. Hugs. Scottie

        3. Hi Ragnar. As to Mormons avoiding coffee and substances, I was in the SDA church and went to a SDA church boarding school. Mormons are not alone in that belief. The bible has as Ali mentioned the phrase the body is the temple of god so keep it holy. Many religions think this means not eating, drinking, or even doing things that might impact how good the body and mind are to god. The SDA did not force members to not do certain acts but it was frowned on and people where peer pressured into things like avoiding meat, soda, coffee, tea, all sorts of stuff like that. Healthy living was promoted. Sadly looking back it seems like a lot of people denying themselves the right to feel pleasure and enjoy sensations for the approval of a mythical being that no one can prove exists. Hugs. Scottie

  2. Hi, Ragnarsbhut-

I’m a Sojourner’s magazine reader, and this past year and especially the current issue, there has been much research and many article written about where and how gayness and trans people are represented in scripture. Interestingly, some of it meshes with things a Sunday school teacher told my 8th grade class. The reasoning was that those who translated the King James version (the one we used way back) made decisions on phrasing and nomenclature based upon what they knew about normalcy and about what they thought God wanted from people, so there’s a lot that gets glossed over regarding the subject of non-cit-het people. It’s been interesting and good to read these religious studies that are getting out to religious people who really want to try to love their neighbors as themselves with no exceptions. I don’t know if that helps, but maybe a little? I think individual people need to come to their own terms with God about things they question, and err on the side of love, but that’s just me.

        1. I didn’t have anything else. Sojourners is a good magazine, but is also religious, so I tend to mention it, but not post because this isn’t a religious list, and a lot of Sojourners isn’t appropriate here. IMO. No worries, Scottie! I hope you get a good meal down, and some decent sleep in a while. For a good while!

          1. Hi Ali. Yes thanks, eating and pain back to levels i can deal with. The problem now is sleeping, I use to sleep a 5 or 6 hours and get up, now I am sleeping over 12 hours or more. Hard to get things done sleeping that much.

As for what you wrote it is very true. The mistranslations from all the original languages, misuse of punctuation, not understanding what some terms / words meant so translated them wrong. The most famous example I read was Jesus mother Mary being of virginal birth, meaning either she was born without her mother having sex or Jesus was, but the word when correctly translated meant young girl. Plus the famous passaged in the Psalms that were love poems written to another man. There were many acts of homosexuality in the OT and the NT. In the OT there was the night long wrestling with an angel / maybe god … was really about a night of great sex between guys. The story of Joseph was all full of gay sex and incest that had to be edited out by the monks of the King James times. Plus in the NT one of the most glaring is the correct translation of the Roman centurion who came to Jesus to beg him to heal his …beloved slave boy? In the original as it was common then for men to keep boy lovers he literally meant his little boy lover, but again it had to be cleaned up to mean his boy servant, boy slave, someone who worked in his house but no not a sexual relationship. Yet Jesus healed the boy, so he clearly did not have an issue with the common practice then.

Ali I really wish people who use the bible as a club, as a weapon, as something to put against someone else would read and understand the history of their holy book. It was not to be used for what it is being used for today. It was written 2,500 years ago over 8 centuries. People act like the gospels are first hand accounts of Jesus life, in fact they were written 70 to 100 plus years after his birth over a couple centuries. It is the retelling of old fables over and over and over until the original is nothing like the new version. Why is it people like me know more about the bible than the people using their bible as a club against my existence? Hugs. Scottie

  3. Hi Scottie, Ragnar- and Ali-; I hope you don’t mind, but I’d like to add two cents here.

I watched a person on TV respond to why there is this “Pride Month” and such: “Because… Show me on the map where heterosexuality is illegal”.

In regards to the Bible: Jesus spoke frequently about caring for our neighbor, looking at the spirit behind the laws. The New Testament defines what is love. The Gospels say that God is love. And yet, we get stuck on who we can love, and completely disregard what love means.

    Hugs.

    1. Hi Randy. Very true. I forgot to add on your comment on the ten commandments that Jesus reduced the ten to just two.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c] There is no commandment greater than these.”

Think what a great country this would be if the republicans would really honor the god they claim to want to push on others. They don’t want to put the sermon on the mount in schools, but a Jewish symbol that lists strict rules. Says a lot about them. Hugs. Scottie

    1. Hi Ali. Sadly the short article doesn’t explain why they were treated this way. It was because in many communities they tried to create they attacked their neighbors and those different from them. When they decided to start their own country they openly went to war with the US and killed and attacked anyone not Mormon. They were only getting back what they had done to others. Karma. Hugs.
