I read this story twice. This seems to have a slightly different nuance than many of the war stories. The soldiers took him to the medics. In other words, they weren’t doing this to torture the guy, like so many of the stories we see. Does it matter that they were taking him for medical treatment? Seems like an important part of the story. Don’t worry though I still think war is hell and horrible and every other adjective for inhumane and awful.

Hi Susan. I think you missed an important detail. The passed by two different ambulances that offered to help. They were told medical people were on the way to help the man, and took him anyway. This was the Israeli soldiers parading the man as a sign to the others of how the IDF sees the Palestinians. They were not taking him for help. Even the Israeli government says the soldiers did wrong. Hugs. Scottie

Hi Susan. It is OK. We all tend to miss things sometimes, especially if we are tired or in pain. I need everyone here to help me see the truth of things because I also miss stuff or have a preconceived notion. Hugs. Scottie

at this time of year in Palestine the ambient temps are around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. that would make the hood of a metal vehicle about 30 degrees higher. this was torture not taking some poor shot person to a hospital. I’ve been in both Israel and Palestine during the month of June and the heat is utterly incredible.. I once touched the side of the bus we were about to get on and got a second degree burn on my hand…..my hand was treated at a local clinic and hurt like the devil for a week. I feel so sorry for the man.

Hi Suze. Yes it was a power show, to prove to the Palestinians how the IDF / Israel views them. Less than human but more like animals to be slaughtered. They bypassed two ambulances willing to help. They were told according to the article that medical help was on the way. But they ignored it to parade the man as a trophy of their might. Sick fucks. Sorry but I have had it with them, with Israel. horrible. i missed some details even though i read the dang thing twice. i guess it was a little too naive to imagine people would do anything other than war during a war.

Israel is quite happily acting like the Nazi’s of WW2 when it comes to the Palestinians. Netanyahu’s goal is to purge the world of them. They’ve been committing war crimes for years an no one seems to care. It is beyond my understanding that we “stand with Israel” especially since my time in both countries.

Hi Suze. What you wrote is the truth. And it should freeze the blood of everyone who believes in fair treatment for all people. Never again should apply to everyone and every race / nationality, or it means nothing. Hugs. Scottie

Hi Susan. As I said it happens. I do it also sometimes and I feel horrible. I have misread a comment and accused someone of saying something they did not. I felt horrible after it was pointed out. I get so tired and I am in pain most of the time so I make mistakes. We all need each other to help each other see the truth of things. Thanks for double checking for me. I do make mistakes sometimes. Hugs. Scottie
