Biden Brings It In Michigan, Good Week Of Polling for Ds, Doing More and Worrying And Less
The Election Is Close and Competitive – No Red Waving 2024 Please

JUL 13, 2024
Happy Saturday all. Got a few things for you today:
Toplines:
- Why I Am Optimistic We Can Win – Watch my new video presentation on the 2024 election. Bottom line – voters in the West just keep voting against the far-right and the fascists and will again this November. And while we may all not agree on the path forward right now I am asking the Hopium community to lead the effort to keep our family together and stay focused on the big job ahead of us – beating Trump and throwing him and MAGA into the dustbin of history.
- Polling Got Much Better For Us This Week – We just had an encouraging week of polling with Biden ahead or tied in many new polls. Biden is at 270 Electoral College votes this morning in the 538 forecast. VP Harris keeps polling at an impressive level, and is clearly bringing much to the ticket. The election is close and competitive today – no red waving 2024 please.
- Inflation FELL in June, the economy is humming, Joe Biden is a very good President and America is far better off today.
The Democratic Party’s Superpower – I got this wonderful note from Hopium community member Linda Z this week, “Checking In From California” –
Greetings Simon,
From someone who hasn’t written a postcard since childhood and only recently discovered what an amazing candidate Rudy Salas is through Hopium, I am deeply appreciative of your efforts to guide the ship during these stormy times. I’ve now written hundreds of postcards to Democrats from California to Ohio and am grateful to have a positive, creative outlet to channel my energy.
I know there are many, many fellow foot soldiers like me across the country; thank you for bringing us all together and giving us the nudge to turn fear and anxiety into actionable results.
I share your belief that we will prevail, although the shape of that success is yet to be determined.
Cheers,
Linda Z

A huge, big thank you to Linda Z and everyone who is working so hard right now for our democracy, for our freedoms, and for our future. All of you are the Democratic Party’s superpower, and if we keep working hard we can win this thing this November! (snip-more)
Hello. Yes we can win. If the left wing media quit attacking Biden our nominee. All they are doing is helping the tRump campaign. I watched The Majority Report on Friday and quit early due to the constant attacks on Biden and now watching it on Monday, even after they showed a great grand clip of Biden speaking of the wonderful things he wants to do with no slip ups and completely powerful, they went back to who they could get to replace him. I have to think it is Gaza that sticks in their craw, but truth be told if Biden loses it will be due to media constantly tearing him down but ignoring all of tRump’s faults and issues. It is like the entire media is against Biden and democracy instead of focusing on tRump and his authoritarian moves. They are tearing Biden down instead of doing that to tRump. They are doing the republicans job for them. Biden is doing better in the polls, yet this constant anti-Biden streaming is going to hurt us badly. But they won’t quit.
By my dogs that love gravy, Emma just said there is still time to get Biden to step aside. Totally clueless on the process. Polling shows any replacement is worse than Biden. But their hate for Biden is clouding their reason. The have to stop, and get behind the Democrats. A lot of liberal media host kept trying to tear down Hilleary to get her replaced. We seen how that worked. And the right stays lock step behind tRump no matter what he does or says. Just my thoughts. Hugs. Scottie

I agree, Scottie. I’ve been just closing down stuff I usually read or listen to, because it’s a disappointment that they still want the President to step aside. I hope they get with the ticket soon. Maybe with the Republican convention, the conversation will change. We can hope!

Hi Ali. I was just saying that the republicans give full throated support to tRump no matter what, reality be damned. Now democrats need to do that all so bond together and support Biden forcefully ignoring anything that might be bad for Biden. That is how republicans win. tRump fell asleep at his own convention, yet media is not mentioning it. If Biden says one word wrong, democrats cry to the media. In this we need to copy the republicans, support Biden no matter what the media says and win for the sake of the country and the people. Hugs. Scottie

Agreed! Especially since, first, we know Pres. Biden would withdraw if he was not healthy; next, he does not have bad times (the debate) often by any stretch of any imagination, while the Don has over 2 years of recorded he’s-not-on-this-planet times. Not to mention democracy. So there is not a thing for us to worry about as to the president’s health, and we need to work together and get him re-elected.

Hi Ali. I have a question. But how do you like blogging? Are you enjoying it? I love that you and Randy stepped up to help. I was terrified if I was not able to post, people would drop the blog. I love my blog and I work hard to build it. But you and Randy jumped in to post for me. Poor Randy had his job as a plant manager and is crazy busy and still managed to post. I can not thank you both enough. When I get feeling better, I hope you will keep posting what you want to share with others. Your thoughts are important. Hugs. Scottie

Well, thank you, Scottie. I’m simply happy I’m in a time and space to help. It’s just fine. I think I share more again now being an author than I was using comments, because I didn’t want to take up your time with comments or emails. I’m happy to continue, but I also think the readership will be thrilled when you feel good and are back running Playtime! Meanwhile, as long as you can stand to take it easier and recuperate well, please do. Around here where I live, things quiet to nothing from mid-July until mid-August, and it’s hotter than the dickens, so I mostly have time. 🖖😀☮

Hi Ali. First thanks for what you are doing, I was worried my not being able to do more than videos would drive viewers away. I thought I was feeling better this morning … Then got really sick again. I know I am better than I was a week ago, and I know having a cold stinks, but I feel this relapse is a huge slap in the face.
I had thought I would be back today, in fact I had stuff ready to post … then by afternoon I was ready to vomit even though I had not eaten, and I only wanted to go to bed. Right now I am forcing my self to read and answer comments but my stomach and mind wants to watch Picard on Amazon. I already went to throw up twice, but nothing came up , which is good, I am getting better. The best news is the fevers have stopped and I should soon be back on my feet. Fingers crossed as hopefully not bragging too soon. Hugs. Scottie.
I just so want to go back to bed. Hugs with great thanks Scottie

I will only say this: it’s good for we who are over 60 to remember that we can’t walk it off anymore. We can’t act like we’re almost recovered until we’ve been fully recovered for 24 hours. I don’t know why that is, but our bodies do, and they will make sure we learn it, one way or the other. I’m sure sorry, Scottie! I hope that cold goes away soon! I’m thinking of emailing you for your address to ship you some homemade chicken broth! It fixes so many things, and I usually have a quart or more in the deep freeze.

Hi Ali. You are correct about that. This one is hitting me hard. Every time I think I am feeling better I get really crappy again.
As for the soup stock that is OK, Ron always keeps plenty to make soups and roasts / hams with. Sadly I have to go out this morning then it is more rest. Hugs. Scottie

😀 No worries! Besides, I’m not sure the stock would make it all the way from here to there, without acquiring some germ that would make you even worse off!

Oh Ali. I forgot and I am sorry, but please don’t push yourself. Only do what you feel comfortable with and as you want. I thank you always. Hugs. Scottie

No thanks necessary, Scottie. We each do what we can when we can!
