The moment Joe Biden said that it was better for him, his family and his country that he does not run for another term was met in my heart with a bit of sadness, but unfortunately not a great deal of surprise. We all come to that moment when we must set down our sword, let another carry the load, and finally be at peace with our fight. So to that, I give a nod to a very human Joe Biden who I feel faced the slings and arrows the best he could and allowed the country to heal from the disaster of 4-years preceding his tenure.
Trump posted that he felt the Democrats owed him a great deal of money because he spent fortunes trashing the Biden name, the Biden presidency and the future of the presidency under Joe Biden. But, Joe stepped aside. Wasn’t that what you wanted, DonDon? Some would say you have a bit of a snowflake problem; I say you are a cryin’ bitch.
So, what has changed? Did the theft of state secrets suddenly now not happen? Did he now not steal from his own charity? Did he actually not defraud his “university” (?) students? Did he now not actually assault that woman, did he not actually cheat on his wife with a porn star as she was giving birth to his son, and did he not actually bribe that porn star to keep her silence? Did he not pump up a crowd to “go fight” for a lost election? Did he not conspire to defraud a state election? Did he now not meet in private with the Russian ambassador, kicking his own staff out of the room? Did he not so incompetently mishandle an international epidemic that we are still suffering the consequences? Did he not destroy nearly every career of every person who worked with and for him? Seriously! Where is the line? What does it take? Who has to die and what has to be destroyed before this man is seen as the con-man that he truly is?

One does indeed wonder these things. I wish Republicans wondered.

Hi Ali. I think that is the problem. As I’ve spoken with Trump supporters, they don’t seem to want to hear anything different than the propaganda. They hate democrats without a given reason and love trump without a reasonable thought.

Because he’s a master at convincing them that there are people who are worse than they are, but who could encroach upon them somehow, and they think he’ll get rid of those others. grrr

A con man is a con man, no matter how he tries to, dress himself up as someone who’s, righteous and morally responsible, and yet, the voters are, still following behind this, corrupted, convicted FELON, and now, as Biden drops himself from the ticket, Trump no longer has his, original, opponent, so he makes one, up, and, the question is: does the country want a president, with, delusions of, GRADIOSITY, someone who’s a CONVICTED felon, to rule over the land??? If Trump gets back into the WH, then, it would be the death of, Uncle Sam, and all thise values that the country, stood, for.

Hi Taurusingemini. I’ve been asked why I am so against Trump. You spell out my concerns exactly.

There are fewer of them than there are of us. As long as we all do the civic work, make sure we and those we love are registered, ready to vote, and have a way to vote, we will win, as we did in 2020. Despair is not a thing in which to indulge until after the unthinkable is a fact. That can’t happen as to this election until next January. So, please buck up, and let’s get the Harris ticket elected in November! There is plenty to do, and I can tell you from experience that helping, by walking and knocking on doors, or phone banking, or baking cookies for those who do those things, and any number of other things not only help, but help us feel better and more invested in the election. And far less fearful, as to those who fear. Join in, Taurus! Some of the best minutes I’ve spent have been on the phone with people who turned into voters for Sen. Elizabeth Warren, or other candidates for whom I’ve banked. And it only costs some time.

Hi. Randy you put it so well. The fact is tRump and the right makes up villains. Reality never mattered to tRump. He just wants the villain he creates in his mind so he can vilify them. He is so clueless as to reality. What has changed in the race? Oh wow, the young people, the wealthy democrats, and the professional democratic politicians love the change to Kamal. The fundraising and news is incredible. Even I did not realize how popular this move is and how worried people had become to Joe Biden. The only issue I have is corporate media killed Joe Biden with non-stop attacks, totally unreasonable stuff. I worry about what they will do to Harris now, and I hope the Democrats can with stand it and stand behind her. Hugs and love brother. Scottie

It should not be to worry. She’s already been vetted, and the Don’s team has already tried to run against her in 2020. So, everyone’s heard it all before, and it can be easily refuted. What the Don’s team says will be ugly, awful things-so awful they’ve already called themselves on it-but there isn’t new dirt (or any dirt!) they can really use as any sort of surprise. We just have to stand up straight and breathe. It’s gonna be OK!

Hi Scottie. There was a man back in the ’30’s who made himself dictator not by good policy but by providing someone to hate. The far right, especially, loves to hate, idolizes those who are proficient in hate. For that matter they cycle through hates and derisions by popular vote, a sort of atrocity of the week!
The difference in Democrats is that we lose our cohesiveness because we have a great many seeking perfection and utopia, and each of us has a different ideal in mind for that. We lose the simple cohesion of hate that republicans have because we seek what is right and good, and that is always a complex and difficult thing. No one who was honest ever said doing the right thing was easy.

Hi Randy. I wonder if hate is losing its attraction by the majority of young people. Remember they all have black or mixed race friends, they follow those same music stars, they have LGBTQ+ friends they like and love and won’t hear attacks against. I think the old guard republicans have misjudged their power thinking this was a race of old times against old times. This is an election of the younger voters, anyone under 50. Or close to it. This is the first election of the 18 to 30 who grew up with mixed race friends, with openly gay and open trans friends. They want to have their shot at having a voice in the US and are seriously tired of the great-grandfathers 70 and older running the country like it was 1970 or earlier. We have a real good chance here to stomp out the maga and the Libs of Tick TOK types but they are going to throw every racist bigoted tropes out they can as they understand this is them being pushed aside. Also so the right wing big money is going to freak, as they see the change happening from a white straight cis society they love to … diversity, equality, and inclusion happening right now. Their very nightmare is happening right now. Hugs, Scottie

Hi Scottie. Immature people, of whatever age, look upon caring for the stranger, feeding the hungry and visiting the sick as weakness. People want to be seen as strong, vibrant and right and it’s a sign of the cool rebel to be mean and abusive. That is why trump appeals to the uneducated and immature. So, I really do hope these young people who have grown up in reality are ready to make the difference.
To answer your thought with a bit of my own concern: I think the most important thing we can do in this country is not to just defeat trump, but to grow past him where his type of idiocy, and the idiocy of people like MTGreen, bobert and matt gaetz aren’t given the opportunity to act the fool. As many of the Democrats have said in congress: This is a time for serious people to do serious work. The circus needs to move on out of town.
