  1. I am personally very conflicted over abortion as a process holding views for and views against at the same time, which might take up an entire post.
    That said one thing I do believe in is the right for a woman to chose abortion.
    I also hold firmly to the belief that the vast majority of those pushing for ban abortion do not care two straws about the welfare and well being of the child post-natal.
    A Right-Wing US government might well ‘ban’ abortion.
    A stupid and literally thoughtless act, on these grounds:
    1. A simple word – Prohibition. Well didn’t that work out so well? Wherever there is an opportunity Crime will fill the gap, I can think of at least three ways for starts:
    A. Hidden clinics (pity help the women who go to them)- see Speakeasies
    B. Dark web suppliers of unregulated abortion inducing pills (once more pity help the women) – see bath tub gin
    C. An underground network which ferries women to Canada or Mexico (political or criminal actually)- See ‘Underground Railroad’ of the abolitionist era (pity help the women who get caught up in the criminal versions)
    2. AND then we have the subject which no one would like to even think about:
    ‘Kick-backs’ for officials of all sort to ‘look’ the other way while the activities in ‘1’ go on.
    3. The inevitable story which breaks revealing that someone in government arranged an abortion for a daughter or girlfriend.
    4. There will be the vigilante groups seeking to police the system. However in a land in which anyone can get a gun those groups shouldn’t depend too much on the subjects of their intimidation being subservient.
    5. Talking about ‘4’. The USA will then be in the mockingly ridiculous position of being a nation which imposes its will on Women under the Banner of Right To Life, while allowing its children to be killed at school because of lax gun laws.

    And that’s only the surface of the issues folks.
