I don’t know how many remember the Internet Archive; we heard more about them during the pandemic, but also when books began to be banned and removed from libraries that were accessible to young people. Meanwhile, Big Profit was fighting the Archive even during the pandemic, but now there is some sad news.
well, hell. there goes a huge source of reading material for me.

I agree, this is a huge loss both to people now, and to history in general, if things proceed the way the writers are concerned they will go. I think I read that there is some time yet before it’s all over. 500,000 books have been removed to the date of the article. Maybe there are still some available. Or, maybe, there are other items of interest available. But all this is why I thought I’d post it here.

Damn, I checked this morning and the only ones “available” for che4cking out are “non-fiction and research”…all fiction seems to be locked or removed.
