This was when I was at one sorely disappointed and elated when I saw this broadcast on the BBC, way back then.
Firstly the sheer hypocrisy of an audience who followed (apparently) Bob Dylan booing and howling down a person for expressing freedom of opinion…….THEN none, none of the folk on stage, aside from Kristofferson said one word condemning the behaviour of the crowd or supporting O’Connor.
Great respect for Kristofferson ever since then.
A lot of remaining disappointment for those who took part in the ‘concert’. (The one smear on my memories of the otherwise much revered Tom Petty).
No surprise then that these days Trump is doing so well. ‘Dawning of the Age of Aquarius’?? …sorry guys another false dawn in the long history of Humanity

I admired the hell out of her when she ripped that picture. It was the height of the fight with the church against pedophile priests, and the Church did everything they could to discount and protect those child rapists. What she did took extreme courage.

It really did. And it brought the issue to light, because so many people had no idea, because the families are pressured to stay quiet to protect their churches. Generations of abused/raped children, still ongoing today, though more people speak out now. But it still takes plenty of bravery to do so. It’s mind-boggling.
Plus she was very talented. As was he. I like to highlight good humans, talented or not.💖
