When reporters stop saying “Israel” when they mean Netanyahu, that will make a difference. Israel still has the purpose of existing to protect people who were decimated through prejudice. It’s very difficult for people to separate Israel, the haven country, from its government, meaning Netanyahu, who is ordering atrocities.
When it is presented separately, so people don’t have to say they’re in favor of YeT more innocent people being killed and the loss of a safe space for a persecuted people (which space has indeed illegally expanded, but that’s not part of what I’m saying here;) while those people absolutely are in favor of the war to stop, then enough people will make their politicians do that work. This has to be separated from the country that most people think of when the word “Israel” is used, by not using the name as a blanket for all the bad stuff happening in that area. And news outlets should be responsible for the framing of this.

Hi Ali. I agree to a point. Good friend it is clear that Netanyahu has had to a lined himself with the hard right religious group that has long wanted to not only take over Gaza and the West Bank but also parts of Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordon. They claim because their Torah says it is theirs then they can use force to take it, and the only reason they get away with all this is old people like Biden and the evangelical religious fanatics that think that Jesus will only come back once all Jews are in “Israel”. Then the fundamentalist fanatics think Jesus will kill all the Jews and make the Christians the true kings. We all know why each party is doing it, but the fact is the Israel and the US are now facing war crimes due to Israel’s actions and the US / Biden’s support for it. Harris is hamstrung by being Biden’s VP so she can’t say anything against it even though she is hinting. But I bet after the election and she wins, she will come out hard against Netanyahu and what he has done. He knows this and so he is fighting hard to sabotage the US election and Harris so tRump wins. Hence his push into Lebanon but it turns out he did not have such an easy time as bombing Gaza the armies of Lebanon are pushing the Israelis back and causing massive casualties. Look for them to cry for US support and … what will Biden a creature of the old days of at least a half century do? Hugs. Scottie
