Armageddon Update

(Stick with it; he puts things together well, and the Armageddon part isn’t all of it.)

  1. I agree Biden did a great job. But let’s be realistic also. He got there through political back room deals. Every corporate democrat running for president dropped out to endorse him and Jim Clyburn threw the support of South Carolina black community to him. That froze Warren and Sanders out, but Biden did what I thought a very smart thing. He brought both Warren and Sanders on the policymaking early on. But he did a bad thing after a year and more by deciding to bring the republicans in letting them call the shots on bills. It stopped the popular things that could have helped him or Harris get elected instead of tRump. Biden promised he would be a transformation president passing the torch of leadership, which people took to mean he would serve one term only. But power is a sweet sweet aphrodisiac very few give up easily.

He did do many transformative things and I applaud everyone. I was especially grateful for his work using the executive branch to protect LGBTQ+ people, including the republican’s favorite punching bag they lie about trans people. He really was a decent man and one I wish more of the country would have wanted to emulate. Hugs

  2. Biden’s experience, including the ability to make back room deals, was an asset. Still is, really.

Compare to the back channel stuff I read of Republicans doing.

First one I heard of was Tom Cotton’s letter to Iran. A bunch of others signed, but he was apparently the ringleader. And he suffered no real consequences for this blatantly disrespectful and probably illegal act.

It was throwing down the gauntlet of “any deal you make with this administration won’t be honored by us (Republicans)”

I’m surprised any negotiations got done at all after that and double surprised that intel was ever again shared with the U.S. of A.
