Opinion | Trump can’t fulfil his promise to fix the economy, so he’s blaming workers instead
Forget about inflation. Now it’s all about cutting ‘waste’ in the form of jobs and our already paltry social safety net

  1. He must blame the lowly workers for to blame those who are truly responsible would cut him off from his true supporters the 0.1%ers that really control him through their unelected Emperor muskrat. We who are the lowly must begin to show our real power by fighting back of which today’s action will start to show where the real power lies. Unless we take such action we will be driven further down until we are left with nothing but the dregs of our serfdom.

    1. Hi Muttpupdad. I agree. But I am not sure what we can do to fight back when it seems our democratic leaders are in full retreat. There are a few lower ranked democrats speaking out and trying to get the party to go on the offensive rather than shrink into the dark corners. I don’t know if you ever watched the Globe Trotters but the team they played against were paid to lose against the Globe Trotters. That is how I feel about the corporate democrats. To keep getting that big money donors they are paid to lose to the republicans. Hugs

  2. Well, as PINO Trusk continues the great undoing, firing people without understanding their roles (because Trump and Musk and shallow and simplistic, and government is not), they’ll continue firing as prices rise, unemployment goes up — first from firing so many Federal workers, then by cutting contracts that destroyed small businesses and curtailed services and construction — and then prices rise from inflation, scarcity, broken supply chains, and tariffs, eventually the shit will land on him. I hope it lands hard. VERY HARD. I expect that to come around the time when a natural disaster strikes — like a hurricane — and there are no Federal workers to help. Meanwhile, the Federal debt will rise because he’s cutting staffs which were bringing in revenue, and taxes will decline because unemployment is up and discretionary spending will drop.

Yes, it’s a brewing mess. Cheers

    1. Hi Michael. Sadly tRump is on record saying he takes no responsibility for any negative outcome. Everything is someone else’s fault. He is as pure as the new fallen snow. And his cult accepts this. I was in Florida when Lawton Chiles sued the tobacco companies and won. The state had a sudden huge surplus he planned to use for schooling, helping the people, and more. But he died in office.

In came Jeb Bush who immediately gave all that surplus money away to the wealthy in tax cuts. Then the next year claimed that the state was in trouble with funds so he needed to sell off parts of it and cancel projects like high speed railways that were in the budget paid for with that surplus.

I was unemployed and did not realize my bones were dying. I went to the local unemployment office before the change. It was staffed with people who would interview you and people who would give you tests to see where you would do best at. They even had schooling opportunities.

Then the next time I went to the unemployment office that was now far from my area, I walked into a room with one security guard, and a row of computers on a shelf. This was in the 1990s, computers were not common and there were so many confused people milling about and trying to read the instructions on the wall. As I understood some about computers I helped a few people. I went to the guard to ask how to access all the services that were available before. He sighed and said “look you clearly understand what has happened. My job is to protect the computers. This is it, this is all there is”. That is what Musk and his ilk want to do to the US. Jeb Bush tried to sell the rights to the water in Florida forever to a company before he got stopped. I do not think today the republicans would have stopped him. Hugs.

      1. No, PINO tRump takes no responsibility unless it’s good, and then he takes it whether it’s due to him or not. I ‘member Bush and the water. We were following it closely because of similiar things happening in California. We’ve been saying since then, they’ll try to monetize everything, including the air which we breathe. And as you say, today’s GOTP will not stop them. Hugs, buddy. M
