Hi Roger. One of the tRump destroy it all to make it better new cabinet secretaries just said … “There will be some discomfort but it will be worth it for the country”. This man was a billionaire talking about the tariffs and huge jump in prices the people will now feel. His discomfort at the change in costs is not really the same as those living pay check to pay check. Those living on minimum wage will feel a lot more hurt than that damn billionaire. But tRump filled this entire government with billionaires to tell us poor people how prices going up will be only a discomfort to us. Yet I just watched videos of him saying on day one prices would drop, tRump saying how easy it was to make prices go down, and how great things were going to be for everyone as soon as he was elected … and yet here we are. These assholes, these morons believed it and still keep believing anything he spews. Such as this below. Hugs

Hi Roger. So many people do / did not pay attention to the things that government do for them daily. The entire goal of the Musk Doge is to destroy the effectiveness of government, make wait times for services longer until people get fed up. Then they say they have to privatize that agency and give it to a company to make a profit doing what the government did for free. For example the word is Musk has changed several contracts from the one that won it through open bidding to his own companies. He has said don’t worry about the cuts to the air traffic controllers as he will contract with the government for it to be done by his AI. The same one that told people to eat rocks for a balance diet.
They want to privatize the national parks. Why? Because for every dollar spend on them the parks bring in 6 dollars in revenue. Same with the IRS, for every dollar spent it brings in 7 dollars. They killed the CFB agency which went after bad banking practices and had managed to get tens of billions in refunds and changes for the people in the US. So the first action tRump’s billionaire cabinet did was kill it. They can’t end the agency, but their new boss simply told all workers to stop what they were doing, cancel all actions against any banks, and then fired all the workers. We have a cabinet officer over an agency with no people in it. Every government efficiency isn’t it. I seriously wonder if our democracy can stand the take over by the oligarchy who do not plan to give up the control they gained under tRump. Hugs

There is line of Cause and Effect Scottie which could take place.
As you say do not pay attention to services supplied by government and take them for granted.
Once these are taken away or they are made to pay over and above taxes they will begin to notice.
There are already 70,000,000 folk primed to notice and voter disillusionment can quickly turn up on the winner’s doorstep.
From there discontent and downright anger can become a problem for running a state.
Your democracy as you knew it might not be able to deal with the challenge, or it still might prevail.
A rougher sleeves rolled up version could evolve which could make its presence known.

He is working on a great post around the idea that project 2025 is basically the installing a right wing regressive Christian white male resistance to anything a progressive president or congresses might come after tRump. They can go about
“installing a right wing regressive Christian white male resistance”. They would have to bear in mind the adage that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. They push too hard and they will regret it.

Hi Roger. I don’t know. I just watched the leader of the democrats in the Senate betray the democrats in the House and give the republicans everything they wanted pretending he saved the country from what tRump could do. But tRump is doing it now anyway. All he did was give them a legal document of the budget saying they could do it. He relived the republicans from having to face the music, face the people over what they were doing. He gave them cover. He gave away all leverage the democrats had … the question was why. Turns out he got calls from several big money donors … wealthy business owners who bitched that the stock market was tanking and they were losing money. The told Schumer that if he let the shut down happen the wealthy would lose money and be very unhappy … not with the republicans doing it but with the corporate democrats bought by them. One Senator was heard yelling at the other democrats that she was being screamed at by Wall Street to give in or else. Our country is so owned right now by the wealthy. I am sick about it. Hugs

Yes it is a sad state of affairs.
Ironically one very strong leader, who took on the vested interests and hammered them down was a republican…Teddy Roosevelt.
