  1. Biblical quotation which applies both to Hamas and the Israeli Govt and their supporters.

Old Testament (as beloved by MAGA)
    Hosea Chap 8 V7-8

For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

Israel* is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.

    *Applies to Hamas too.
    Neither wins

    1. Hi Roger. You wrote, “For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind“. Roger, I know you meant it in a sacred meaning dealing with what happened to Israel in the ancient past. After all I have long said the bible is a written account of the geopolitical politics of the time these events happened. But thank you for giving me the chance to weigh in on something that has bothered me all my life about what religious leaders teach. Your reward or punishment is … after you die. Something no one can come back to dispute. It is all faith. Mega church pastors get obscenely wealthy promising things they can’t possibly show, but they need the money for it now. Pay now, get from someone else later. It could be a scam but prove it. Pat Robinson once told an 82 year old retired woman who lost her husband who wrote in that she couldn’t afford food and still give her 10% tithe. He did not offer any of the millions of dollars his ministry raised to help her nor did he say god would forgive her tithe. Instead he told this frail old poor woman that she needed to go out and get a job because her tithes were to be paid first even is she starved. He was worth hundreds of million dollars if not more.

Which leads me to the question on this topic I feel I must address. The people who adopted me and their hell spawn offspring. We need not go over what we both know so well. But first in the end of life of the adopting male who was the worst abuser of the two adults I had to bring myself to first give him his finial wishes and asking my wonderful husband who had started to know what they had done to me and who was angry at them to help bring them to us to give him his last wishes. It confused him, but he did it. Then in the last indignity I had to care for him the last two weeks he lived. I had to give him his personal care. I had to provide toiletry care, helping him urinate holding the organ he used to hurt me and clean the anus he made me put my tongue to as a child. And I had to do it with no malice doing the best care I knew how to do. As he lay on that bed after I had again cleaned him up, after he had again voiced his hate for me I said to him “I can forgive you, but I can never forget”. He turned from me to show he did not care. I was beneath his notice as my pain was during my childhood.

Then when his wife called and begged us to give her last few years from hell spawn she raised who were dealing with her like she and her husband taught them to deal with people, I again asked my husband to help bring her to the park model we owned to let her live there. We again cared for her for the few years she lived trying to make her last years happy until she went into hospice. Again I had to wash the parts that I was forced to please as a kid and now that Ron knew my childhood more fully he made sure to be there to do as much as he could instead of me until he forced her to apply for home care taking that burden from me.

So my question is where is their “For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.” It seems I was the one who reaped what they sowed. I was the stranger that had to swallow it up … in the most human sexual ways. I was the one who paid, not them.

Anyway I am not insulting you or your beliefs, I just wanted to know how the bad guys get the whirlwind: instead of those of us who did not deserve such as the children in Gaza and their parents they lost to the hate, bigotry, and the greed of the Israelis who wanted the land … that they claim their god promised them. Like it was the god’s land to give them and did not need humans to create the first part and bombs along with the help of the biggest bully in the world to help them win. Hugs

      1. Let me push aside for a moment the matter of the venal hypocritical ‘pastors’. As Jesus commented ‘Truly, they have had their reward’ (On Earth that is – not beyond).

Let me instead address the sacrifice you made in your later life. To aid those who did you terrible harm and still showed no remorse. In their you display the true courage and generosity of spirit. The one which goes through the pain and suffering again and again because you have chosen to give and to help because you and Ron made that gigantic moral choice. You therefore stand head and shoulders above so many folk as true men of courage and resolve. That is how I see it. I salute you Scottie.

As for the injustices perpetrated by evil doers who seem to get away with it. That is a complex one. A common question, cry or demand from many Christians is along the lines of ‘Why God? I just don’t get it. Why?’.
There is of course the old belief that these folk will suffer in the Afterlife, eternally; exactly how has been debated for….well hundreds upon hundreds of years from all sorts of angles. A lot of commentaries would not make sense or would sound unsatisfactory to folk outside of Christianity.
My own outlook is wrapped in a grimmer view point and is a bit difficult to encapsulate in a few words, I’ll try though:
‘In this world, in the Here and Now. And in the Beyond Here and Now. No one gets away with it. One way or another, they pay,’
I’ll have to do a post on that sometime.

        Take care you guys
