The racism and nativism. The jealosy. The envy. The pettiness. The insecurity. The retribution. The white supremacy.
Everything MAGA is less than. Inferior. Unaware. Unserious. The opposite of hard work. Lazy. Shitty and proud.
Attacking prestige. Attacking the number one institution for cancer research. Attacking international inclusion and camaraderie.
Putin is winning. Kristi Noem is helping.

The difficulty my dear friend, the challenge, is not to give up.
I am not talking either about ‘The head held high. Noble smile’ solution
I am talking about the grim, determined, plodding on through the unhappiness, through the fear, the despair, the injustice.
I refer to the gritted teeth determination, the stamping down on the urge to lash out at anyone to pay like with like, instead the constant mantra ‘I will not give up. I will keep on. I will still have Hope,’
Sometimes it is all we have.

The sad thing is, all of them are all of those. Scottie has it right. It’s like watching a long line of traffic traveling too fast, ignoring the road signs, juuuust ahead of the cops, and down the road is a big sign that says “caution. bridge work ahead. road may be out…” And no one seems to understand what that means.
