I’ve taken seven free online courses through Harvard. They are great!

Well, that’s a fine reference for these! Thank you, Suze. I’m glad you all haven’t floated or blown away.

not yet…the tornadoes all seem to run madly all around Enid without actually hitting us dead on.

Well, I’m sorry for the people who get hit. I always hope the tornadoes will stay in what our channel calls “thinly populated areas”, meaning the fields between homes. sigh However, I was thinking of you, and good is good!

yea…i hate when they take out towns. we’ve done a lot of cleanups in the past 30 years, and I personally am tired of seeing people lose everything.

Hi Suze. I would love to be able to learn more than I know on so many subjects. How are these courses taught? I mean do you have to have a good education to be able to be able to learn from them. I know you have a grand education and are very smart. I don’t have a good education, often either out of school or forbidden books at home including school books. I am terrified to look into these and realize I don’t have the background education to be able to take advantage of the wonderful chance. Hugs

No, don’t be terrified! Just click to the article, go see what classes there are, and then see what you like. If you like one, you’ll learn from it. They aren’t going to kick you out, Scottie. These are for all. Seriously. Do it for you-it’ll help you relax! Hugs.

okay…….first, they have reading material and videos (more videos than reading, except for Math) to watch. assignments are given for each lesson. It is work at your own speed, and there is an educational assistant that you chat with with in real time for any help you need. If you have a fifth grade reading level you can take the classes…do NOT ask why it is all at the fifth grade level unless you are taking a composition class, I don’t have an answer. I learned a ridiculous amount from each course I took, and am thinking of taking several more in the near future. I already have multiple degrees in several fields of study so i thought I’d go for something completely different next time. Get out of your own head and sign up for whatever strikes your fancy. There is NOTHING like learning something new and getting the validation of huge marks for it. All the classes are pass/fail and the assistants HATE when their person is not doing well, so they help a LOT to get you through. I always keep a few papers and a pencil next to me to work through problems…like the math classes I took, but others do everything online and get through rather easily. I am just a bit old school and need that paper.

Hi Ali. Thank you for posting this for the people able to use them. Learning should be free for anyone who wishes to learn. Learning new things is growing and growing is living life better. However as I wrote to Suze I fear that my lack of an education would keep me from being able to enjoy this benefit. I need a lower level free education. Maybe grade 7 or 8 to 12th. Some subjects I doubt at this my age I will ever be able to be fluent in. Hugs
