Fascinating. We seem to miss most of the excitement out there, maybe “hottest on record’ only pertains to cities…?

Nope. I’m in a small town in Southern KS, and it was the hottest here, as well, even with the rain. Every year it is the hottest, sometimes by a degree, but hotter is hotter.
I love Winter. It’s so much easier to warm up than it is to cool down. For me, anyway.

Hi Ali. Ron is like you, he prefers it cooler like winter. I don’t as the heat doesn’t bother me but the cold does. Of course I don’t have to mow the lawns and stuff like he does so I understand his frustration. This year like all the years before it got hotter sooner than was normal the last year or years before. Hurricane season has started sooner and ended later because of how hot the waters are. We are headed for trouble for sure. As the old saying goes … I can see it coming in the wind. Hugs

Hi Judy. It seems worse in cities due to the high buildings, lots of concrete, asphalt, and structures that not only trap the heat but stop the wind from cooling them. But yes it is a sad fact that mankind is destroying the only habitat we can live in. No matter how much is mankind’s contribution we need to reverse the trend as we can’t survive if the earths sustained temperature rises a few degrees more. There will be a complete change in the weather systems, the Gulf Stream is showing signs of slowing, places where food is grown now won’t be able to support food production due to water shortage which is already hitting the Midwest areas, and places people live will be underwater forcing mass migration. And with some places not being very welcoming to immigrants and immigration that alone will cause a problem. The military has declared climate change to be a matter of national security regardless of tRump canceling the use of the words. Hugs
