  1. It is the practice of Republican admins, especially with Republican legislative majorities, to institute gag rules and curtail family planning and sex ed/health curricula. It has ever been so. We go through this every time. Each time, it goes a little farther, and we have to get it clawed back when we can. This is a step down the road of not requiring female children to attend school. They haven’t gotten there yet, but it’s been discussed before amongst Republicans.

    1. Hi Ali. Project 2025 wanted all females out of paid work and into the home as mothers and caregivers. These type of people want a very misogynistic society focused on males and male needs, wants and desires. It scares me to imagine the kind of country these people want. Very regressive / oppressive for everyone but them. Hugs

      1. Yep. And women have known this all along; it’s what we’ve been working against for generations. So this is simply more of the same, but simply done a tad more brazenly, and somewhat more rapidly. GW got repro gag orders and health/sex ed gags in place as rapidly as this admin., though. People may have forgotten that because he also sent everyone a check (an advance on their tax refund, as it turns out, but it was still a nice chunk of money to make the rich people’s tax cuts taste better.) Same as it’s ever been. I’m surprised Trump hasn’t sent out checks, but he is a notorious tightwad.

        1. Hi Ali. You are correct. When I was a young adult in my late teens / 20s as a tiny 120 pound guy with a slim 26 inch waist when a straight person learned I was gay they would ask if I was trying to be a woman. The way they said it showed they meant being a woman was a negative lessor status. I think that is why the right always talks about trans females but ignores trans males.

          I got asked so many rude and ignorant questions along those lines. I tried hard to explain I had no idea what it was like to be a woman, I never grew up or experienced female puberty. I just was attracted to guys and enjoyed intimacy with them. But straight cis guys would then say … that means sex right, so if you’re having sex with a guy that means you are the woman … right? You can get what they were really asking and why I think.

          It took decades for that thinking to go away and for the idea of a same sex relationship to be as different and fulfilling as different sex relationships could be. Now it seems that the tRump people / project 2025 people want to drive us back decades to that same ignorant thinking.

          But good news. I have been wearing my pride hats everywhere for two months. I not only have gotten great responses but several young adults have reached out to me to ask me questions, the kind they couldn’t ask in their church group. Looking for answers from me they were afraid or not sure where to ask else where.

          I found the most side eye unwelcoming stares I get are from older women. I have been surprised at the men of all ages and shapes who smile at me with a nod or stop and talk to me. I have had people from different countries and grizzled old men I was expecting a problem from give me warn nods, start up conversations, or simply pass me say “way to go”.

          In the local Walmart I was wearing my pride cap and an older woman with a younger one possibly a daughter had gone by us several times with the looks the older woman gave would curdle milk. Then they seem to have gotten up the anger to tell me off, and as they barreled down the aisle set to confront me an old well dressed Cuban man cut them off and engaged me in a long conversation on the rising prices and how things were going. He mentioned how he couldn’t stand the intolerance of the time we were living in and mentioned his life in Cuba. He total blocked the women from getting to me while giving them room to move around us. The fact that they stopped and couldn’t get a word in while this elderly well dressed man held court on the issues of rising prices and intolerance totally defused them. They finally stormed off, and the man thanked me “Young man thank you for listening to an old guy talk on about things”. He mentioned he would be 88 soon. I wished him a happy birthday and we parted ways. You never know in life do you. Hugs

    2. Hi Bee. As I replied to Ali one of the goals of project 2025 is the removal of all females from paid work and for them to be forced to return to the home to raise children along with being caregivers. They want a male centered world that caters to the needs, wants, and desires of males that keeps females subservient and submissive. Of course that applies only to white males as these same people are completely racists. They seem to want a 1950s society with 2025 tax and wealth structure. It scares me to think of the regressive oppressive world they are trying to create. Hugs

      1. Well as Ali said its astonishing how short peoples memories are. I always like to think these things won’t last forever. Every dictator has fallen eventually. The problem is the damage done in the meantime. Plus the internet. I believe the internet is a change in human society like the invention of the wheel or book print. It will change everything but for better or worse, who knows. Probably a bit of everything. But I understand your fears. Once the rightsare gone they are hard to get back.
