  1. so many of us are ‘immigrants’ or the children or grandchildren of them, so this really hits home. What’s interesting, the people who get the least attention are the indigenous people, the orginal settlers. Humans seem to have a built in mistrust of anyone who isn’t ‘us’ in some way. Maybe it’s a natural reaction to ‘strangers’, the way a relatively docile dog will growl at newcomers, or a family horse will try to nip a stranger…

    1. I don’t know why people fear other people, and try to segregate and separate. And, as you say, there are indigenous, who, if anyone’s gonna have more rights than anyone else, indigenous and military veterans ought to be those. But the current admin. is already taking more away from both of those groups.

      1. Hi Ali. I find it interesting the way different groups act when meeting those different from themselves. Often those distrusting of others are those who were mistreated or felt others had someone harmed them. I have often enjoyed the company of those welcoming people who are new or different finding those people most interesting to be around. For me I lucked out. I was raised by haters and mistrusters and I could have turned out like them. But I went first to large cities in the US and then to Germany where I was always met by kind wonderful accepting people who reached out to me helping me with what I needed. I realized how and who I wanted to be in life. Ron sealed the deal when he came into my life, teaching me how to be a better person. Hugs

    2. Hi Judy. Yes it is interesting that there are two types of people who react to those they don’t know. Some react with distrust and pulling away, while others reach out and are inviting to those who are different. I have read of a tribal nature of the first group that they vote or protect members of their tribe no matter what while blaming / attacking those not in the tribe for doing the same things. I have often found that animals that distrust others have often felt negative effects from those they did not know. It is the same for people I think. Hugs
