  1. They would, of course.
Actually this is very similar to the Communist playbook as imposed by the USSR upon nations it ‘liberated’ during WWII.
Only difference is Trump’s court are not as swift, efficient or experienced as they were.

    1. Hi Roger. I don’t know much about the USSR because of the propaganda here in the US about that country. But these quotes from the article show how the US is in big trouble and may not ever have free and fair elections again. Because if the republicans under tRump refuse to accept their losses and according to tRump any election they lose is rigged, then they will change the laws so they are always in power. The republican leaders have made clear they want a single party rue like in China with them the power doing the ruling. The party is not about democracy and people’s rights. They are as a party feel the right to tell other people how to live their lives I think in part because they get that from their churches. Their churches tell them to control how others live, what they eat, who they love, what sex they can have and with whom, and they now demand the right to tell them what they can read or watch. Hugs

The Trump team’s takeaway from all that: Set up the infrastructure to destabilize the administration of elections at the state level well before Election Day, not just after the polls close.

The second lesson was to purge the team of lawyers and officials who will follow the law, even if that means an election result that infuriates Trump. He had top aides who held the line during his first term, acknowledging his loss in 2020. They’re all gone now, leaving only Trump’s unquestioning sycophants in the second term.

And that’s exactly who has been bombarding state election administrators with letters for months, demanding copies of the voter rolls for those states, along with records from previous elections when Trump was on the ballot. This is the plodding setup that will eventually lead to Trump and his team making new – and still unsubstantiated – claims that they’re trying to protect the 2026 midterm elections from looming fraud.

“They’re taking aim at all of the brakes that applied before. And they’re starting earlier,” Weiser said. “That just shows you he’s laser-focused on interfering in elections here by any means necessary. Bend the rules. Throw out the playbook.”

      1. Hi Scottie.
The USSR was a ruthless state. Period.
It was not a fully efficient outfit either when it came to running day to day services or the economy. Being all of Russia and what had been the old Russian Empire it had a lot of resources though. So the one thing it could do is keep the whole apparatus running in a rickety way for many decades.
The folly of the German state to invade Russia was to try and conquer something that big. It wasn’t going to work,

The issue which the Court of Trump think they can cope with is running a five-time zone nation which is used to being independent at local level. Which is a whole different challenge to those of Russia and China who have long histories of centralised authoritarian governments and have playbooks and traditions that go back centuries; even then there have been many bloody regional rebellions.
This current administration is endeavouring to impose total authoritarian rule by law or rigged elections, will face an ingrained opposition by about one-third of the population. One third who will do its best not to co-operate and thus been grit in the machine.
As much as this regime try and impose their will they way they are the greater the risk they will face from a small number with access to fire arms, which as I have said before will result in a kick-back by Trump loyalists, which in turn will cause a counter-kick back.
Unless they moderate they are heading for very messy scenarios, legal, civil or worse,

        Take care you guys
        Roger.
