Political cartoons / memes / and news I want to share. 8-21-2025

Ok I have to admit these cartoon posts are becoming like the old cartoon posts I made on Scottiestoybox.  What stared out as 50 cartoon sites became over 150 before I had to end doing it.  It would take 8 to 10 hours to post and people need to understand I only get about 12 hours awake and now less time to be online.  So again what started as a small post taking 2 hours has now become a 6 hour project.  I got up at 7 after a wonderful … with my husband.  Took care of our remaining cat and made myself coffee.   About an hour later when my husband got up I made him coffee.

I then spent a bit of time watching videos, listening to my husband and having a second cup of coffee.  The entire time I was adding to this post.  Then I went to take my shower which due to the skin condition I have I must shower every day even though I rarely get dirty / sweaty enough to need it.

The point I am making is there is no shortage of memes / cartoons to post on all the evils of what is happening is endless.  Every website I have saved in this group for opening, which is now up to 70 pages plus every cartoon takes me to ten more.  So if people want these I will keep doing them, but I think I need to shorten how long these get.

The truth is I went back to cartoons and memes because my eyesight is so bad that it is hard for me to read an article and post it.  It is far easier to click copy and then post for a cartoon or meme.   But unless people want this feed I don’t want to keep doing it.  I will soon go back to doing videos again which I like a lot more.  But again it is what people who come here want to see.  Please let me know.  The truth is I have an issue with being on the computer right now which I will share in a different post.  Hugs

  1. Hang in there buddy, we’re all experiencing the fatigue. That’s the whole point of their game, all the chaos and confusion, overwhelm, wear us down, out, just give up

Though I have mentioned a time or two (and I) you don’t have to put quite so much into it. There are others out there doing the same thing, word gets around. We may not be winning this thing yet but we’re making inroads: slowing, retarding, its progress

There are a couple of good brands, Morning Star comes to mind, of grain & black bean-based sausages and meatballs that are great in tomato-sauced dishes, spaghettis and goulashes, without all the slipstream effects digesting meat …

    1. Hi Ten Bears. Thank you for the encouragement. I have started to hold back and try to shorten the posts especially the cartoons that are repetitive. I appreciate the suggestion on the meatless products. Around 2015 Ron and I tried to go meatless. We scoured our stores for meat substitutes. But the few we could find were expensive which then were more than meat itself. But when we tried them we couldn’t stand the taste or texture. I am all for meat substitutes that taste good, and I also understand how bad for the environment raising meat animals are. And that ignores the horrible lives these animals live on commercial factory farms. I grew up on farms and lived in a town with more cows than people. But those were small family farms and the cattle were treated with respect because of their place in the community. I could tell you the cows name and history on the farms I worked. But until I can get something that tastes as good or nearly as good as the real meat then I would rather go without. Because like I said we made meals we had to throw out due to how bad the meat substitutes we could get then tasted.

I want to update you and thank you on the advice you gave on the work out training I am trying. I am still doing it every three days. One day legs on the stepper, rest a day, next day I do the arms and shoulders, rest a day, then do the stepper again. I reduced the amount of time I tried to do the stepper until I could do three minutes of steady exercise without excessive pain or suffering. Yet it still is making a difference that Ron has noticed especially in my calves. At first he thought I was having water retention swelling until I convinced him it was the stepper. Sadly I have had to cut my walking down. I had been up to slightly over 2 miles but now I only walk a few times a week and it is less than a mile. I am trying to figure out what happened and how to improve again. I know endurance is more important than muscle gain. On my arms / shoulders I have been stuck. I have not increased the weights but I can’t get beyond 12 curls, 14 under armpits lifts, 14 triceps extension lifts, 14 front shoulder lifts, and with nearly no weight 10 side shoulder lifts. The MRI showed damage to my shoulder muscles and joints. My doctor warned me about using any real weight on them but like you said repetitive motions just raising my arms sideways up to as close to getting them to touch as possible but to stop if I felt pain. She said the damage was so bad that if I could afford it she would recommend surgery. Oh and I do 4 sets of each exercise.

But Ten Bears, my question is am I doing something wrong? I backed off the weight and lowered the minutes for the stepper. But after all this time I am stuck at this level. I had hoped to increase the number of reps but failing that to at least adding a 5th set. But I can’t do it. I should be able to … I keep working to but I seem to have it a limit I don’t know how to move past. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am 62. I want to live as healthy and long as I can while being productive in society. Thanks. Hugs

      1. Sometimes we reach plateaus, Scottie. To me, it sounds like you have a fine routine, especially given your pain and various issues. Keep up what you’re doing as best you can, and one of these days, you’ll lose count, or forget because you’re thinking of something else or zoning, and find you’ve done quite a bit more without even noticing it until it hits you how much you’ve done. Plateaus are natural. It could be your body is strong enough now to know when more will be too much; that’s why your body is stopping where it does. That’s a gain in itself! Your body will know when more should happen. None of us is in our 40s anymore! 😀 😀

        1. Hi Ali. Thanks for the advice. I started walking about a year or more ago when my pain doctor told me she was afraid if I did not push myself to walk a little despite the pain and weakness I would be back in the wheelchair in a few years. She noticed the weakness in by back and legs. She also increased my pain medications to help me do it. I have been confined to a wheelchair 3 times in my life for years at a time. I do not want to go back to that ever again if I can help it. I was having a lot of pain in my shoulders so she had me go for an MRI of both. The report came back with torn muscles and damaged joints, but then I “popped” my right shoulder. She tested my strength of the shoulders and was very concerned that I was so weak in both but very on the right. She then suggested exercises I could do but she told me no weights at first and for a while. She was very happy when I told her I bought a set of work out weights. She was worried I would use too much weight on my damaged joints / back and she really pushed for moderation. I guess at first I screwed that up and Ten Bears stepped in and helped me set up a better work out plan. Hugs

      2. You’re at the frustrating plateau. You’re doing everything right but not “seeing” the results you had hoped to. Don’t let it bug, or discourage you, it’s perfectly normal. Just keep doing what you’re doing, don’t push it, you’ll get past it. Bear in mind what you’re dealing with (your body) doesn’t measure time as we do in our minds. Another thing is there are indeed limits that it may be we may not be able to pass. Sometimes the best thing is to push it up to where it is just barely comfortable and call that your maintenance regime.

Just keep doing what you’re doing, don’t push it, you’ll be fine …

        1. Hi Ten Bears. Thank you. I started out trying to do too much which my pain doctor had warned me not to do as it would cause more damage. I appreciate the advice you have shared with me. During my last visit with my pain doctor she was very happy with my progress. She is still very worried about the issues with my right shoulder being so much weaker than my left and wanted another MRI. But with so much going on I have not gotten it yet. I will keep you informed. Hugs
