A town hall tour??? My sniveling coward MAGAt rep Juan Ciscomani (AZ-6) has been hiding from wee the stinky constituent pipples since he was re-elected.
The closest he came was a virtual Zoom Town Hall where only pre-vetted questions or comments were allowed.
But he keeps showing up to talk to friendly business groups and claiming that these are ‘constituent meetings’.

That’s how the KS Republicans are doing it, too. Only the Chambers of Commerce, Kansans For Prosperity, etm. Worthless bunch. But, our districts are such that they remain in office.

Hi Ali. Welcome to gerrymandering. While I dislike it, the democrats / left made the mistake of passing independent voting maps commissions that draw neutral districts. We disarmed and let the right race ahead doing it while we claimed the high road it doesn’t do any good if the republicans rig the maps so democrats can never win power or authority. Hugs.

Oh, no need to welcome me! It’s been this way since I first moved here in the mid-70s. Not as bad, but Republican mess with the lines every chance they get. As I’ve written before, the state already toes the legal line of gerrymandering from the wrong side, so I don’t know if there will be further action here, though ya never know with Republicans.

Hi Ali. That is the thing that the left is beginning to understand. Republicans have long understood power and how to use / abuse it when they have it. The left, myself included, have always wanted to take the high road, to be better than those we felt were doing wrong. But unless the left fights fire with fire we won’t have anything left to save. Taking the high road, doing the nice thing got us here to where we are today politically. We can’t bring a banana to a gun fight anymore. Hugs

Hi Bruce. The RNC has told all their people not to go to town halls because the optics are bad. That is what they are worried about not what the effects of what bills they are passing are doing to the public. How it looks for them. That is what tRump is all about, looks. He is a reality TV con man who was barely making it as a pretend wealthy person and the production company built all new sets that looked like he really was a wealthy billionaire complete with a backstory they pushed. It was all just Hollywood TV hype made up crap. But he learned from it and he has always loved looking important so he reveled in it. The first run for president he never thought he would win it was a marketing gimmick that went far better than he ever thought. He loved the pomp and how he was treated that even when he was not president he insisted on a caravan of vehicles like when he was president. He insisted everyone still call him President and stand when he entered a room. He wanted to keep using the presidential seal which he had to be forced to stop doing. I really think he plans to never leave the White House. Hugs

The interesting thing about this particular town hall, though, is that day before yesterday, I read about it including a transcript, and Alford did actually appear before regular people, and let them talk. It was like an anomaly. He listened, he didn’t say a lot but he didn’t blow smoke up their noses, either. He’ll probably go on being a Trump Republican, but he at least behaved like a US Representative at the appearance I read, which included this constituent who was blunter than the others. None of the constituents liked the OBBB, and they all said so.
