What Moderates Get Wrong About Growing The Democratic Party

The video below talks about the shut down and how the democratic party base has changed and is moving in one direction, while the party leadership has moved or stayed where they have been for decades.  They talk about the money in politics and the consulting / strategy class who still want to run campaigns designed for getting the 1990s suburban populations along with the mythical older center voters.   They also discuss the AIPAC / Israeli lobby who try to get their hooks into every candidate or congressional members.   Hugs

  1. Riddle me this: how many precinct committee chairs do these narrators/presenters fill? How many county, district state meetings do they attend? How many letters do they write to the ones who do step up to try to get something done? What, in other words, do they do to justify being able to bitch, complain, and suppress the Dem vote? Are they even registered as Dems?

I’m sorry, but this stuff is beginning to make me feel trolled. Obviously we all know I’m at least as liberal as anybody else here, and probably far more, toe-to-toe on issues. And I’ve done this, and have told the stories about butting my head against a moderate brick wall hoping for 6″ of the foot I was going for, and having to be happy with the 2″ I got, because it was a thing to build on at the next reorganization. So, I understand that Democrats are human and not perfect, and mostly not liberal, but if people show up, read the damn platforms, then work to change them, we can get a lot farther a lot faster.

But this Dem voter-suppression bullshit from people who don’t know but still lead others their way has to stop. It’s what freakin’ got us where we are now. Seriously, these are the people liberals want to follow?

I hope the spirit in which this was intended is taken. If not and you want me to quit, I will. But I know there are better ways to improve Democrats than this MR crap. It’s just going to take effort and time to make change, and it’s easier to bitch about it on the way to the camps, I guess.
