It is a .pdf. I was going to say, if you don’t want to read it top to bottom, go to the last (25th) page, but Justice Alito’s dissent is lengthy and verbose. (Yes, maybe worse than I, so I’ve given pages of particular pertinence here.) Justice Thomas joined him in that, then Justice Gorsuch also dissented on his own. Justice Kavanaugh concurred with the decision on page 2, denying the Petitioner, and in favor of The State Of Illinois. There is language there to read, as the scope was kept narrow by the Court: no stay, and as to various statements or defenses of Petitioner no finding of good application to the case. The concurrence (by Kavanaugh) agreed but named a circumstance in which he would have ruled to issue the stay. It’s a page and a half. I suggest reading it all, but I’m a nerd that way. This is a win, as long as protestors stay well-behaved, as we do.
So happy to see SCOTUS is finally getting their heads out of Trump butt. Didn’t read it all yet and having to do it all on cellphone but I am presently in Deaconess hospital in Evansville getting treatment for a serious leg infection. Halfway crazier than usual afraid I’ll miss Christmas with my kids. Hope someone will remind me never to make plans for anything again . I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.

Angie, I hope your week goes well for you, and I hope they are keeping you comfortable. If you want the primary detail, it’s on page 2. I have no idea why anyone would want to read Alito’s; I did read Gorsuch’s, but someone might even wish to read both. I’m thinking I’ll eventually get to Alito’s; they usually give away what they’re going to review and undo in their opinions, so I’ll give in and read it. Maybe after the holidays.
Do you think maybe your kids might bring Christmas to your hospital if you’re still there? That would be pretty fun, it seems. Either way, I know the lights’ll be on here at Playtime, so holler out if you feel like it.

Hi Ali! I’m still in hospital and now it will be next week before I get out. My son, Don, was here today when Medicare withdrew the okay to leave and we have now filed a grievance against them for the way they have jerked us aound.
The kids have said they will be here Friday and today Don went to my room and brought my laptop and Kindle back to me so I’m not as cut off from life. Makes it easier to keep spirits up.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends.

Kinda frustrated right now. After talking about how good the food is here they have messed it all up. Yesterday all the meals were cold and today they brought the wrong thing. Ah well, it’s not forever and I will be going home soon. Just praying there isn’t something horrible going on in the leg.
Anyway I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas.

It’s OK, Angie; Christmas is OK. On another blog before Thanksgiving, I dissented from the green bean casserole is awful opinion, and mentioned I might even make green bean casserole cupcakes! I never got to it, until today. I made up my mind, and I did it. I’m going to make a post about it for tomorrow here on Scottie’s. Meanwhile, if you’re comfortable, thant 75% of the healing law.🎄
