      1. 😀 We are at -2 right now. It could get as high as 10 above today, though. Ollie went outside, anyway. But, yes, when it’s raining, he’s quite moody because he can’t go running outside. Personally, I don’t know what I’d do if Ollie didn’t own me, but I do understand your point about that. They don’t understand interruptions! 😀

        1. Hi Ali. Ollie went out. Boy he has more fiber than I do in my spine. Yes, I can’t imagine not having a rescue in our home. Ali when we were younger we rescued dogs. When I lost the ability to walk, remember the first time I was in a wheelchair for 2 and a half years, we took in cats. It has been very wonderful and I don’t regret any of it, not even the sadness of holding them as they walked the rainbow bridge. Everyone I held and all the memories still cause pain of loss. But we worry that if we take in any more, will they end up like Tupac before we took him in? He had lost two or maybe three families before us. We have to be adult enough to put our need and love of such cuddling joy over their needs. Hugs

          1. It is tough to decide about such things. When I was hoping Maggie would be the doggy, here’s what our son said; “Ma, realistically, this is probably going to be your last dog. They need to be easier than this.” Because you might remember that Maggie had been overbred all her life, so her insides were, um, realigned and not in good places for general life. She needed a lot of help with about everything as to the end points of digestion, if that makes sense. I loved that doggy, even though I only had her a few days, she was so good, but I knew I couldn’t keep up with the necessary duties of helping her poop, etc. while she looked at me with those big, brown eyes. Poor little thing. She went to a well-moneyed pug rescue couple, and lived out her last few weeks with them as her kidneys failed her. I could not have done that; heck I could not have afforded it! And then along comes news of a family right here in town with Ollie, and other than that he’s untrustful of strangers, he’s a great dog for us! And his age is very good to go with mine, too. He’s still active and young, does his business where his business should be done, and is pure joy to me.
But, it is, again, a thing everyone has to think about in regard to their lives and the possible needs of their pets.
Ollie’s got a pretty thick coat, like a Corgi, but he doesn’t waste time in these temps. Today is supposed to go up to 45 degrees, so the back yard will be a swamp. Which reminds me I need to change the door towel! 😀
