Fox Host: It’s Wrong To Single Out Founding Fathers As Slave Owners Because “Slavery Was Commonplace”

Saying the quiet part out loud, why mention that people owned other people as if it was a bad thing.   What these assholes want to ignore was there was a large active anti-slavery movement well established in those times, and that Jefferson himself admitted slavery was wrong, while enjoying the benefits of it.   Literally.   Hugs

“If you were asked to describe someone, to define someone, to identify someone, to tell their story, you would look for the traits they hold that are unique, not the traits that they hold that were commonplace.

“To the point of tattoos, increasingly, it’s not something that distinguishes you from someone else. I made the joke, if you were asked to describe a pirate, you wouldn’t discuss his hair color, you would discuss his peg leg. You’re looking for what makes someone unique.

“Sadly, underlined and emphasized, sadly, slavery was commonplace for much of human history. It did not set our founding fathers apart.

“What set them apart, their unique description and identifier was their ability to recognize and codify these eternal freedoms and rights in the Constitution and in the declaration.

“That’s the definition, description and story of James Madison.” – Fox & Friends host Will Cain, in yet another report on historical “wokeism.”

I’m now halfway through The 1619 Project. Now I know why they were all freaking out about that book. It lays out in great detail just what was going on in our country between 1619 and now. It’s all so much worse than anything I’d ever heard or read before. No one is “singling out” the founders. They are recording history correctly of everyone alive in the US (and other countries that aided and abetted…often through financing and great profit) for slavery. The founders just happen to be the famous examples.

Having the 20th Century white slave-holder defend his viewpoint is a valuable contribution to the current discourse about the sudden surge of positive feelings about our country’s slave-holding history.
It’s Feel Good-Time for white America’s precious tender sensitivities. Tipping our toe into the warm waters of treasonous lies and we like the feel of it.

Founding Fathers – wealthy men who wanted to maximize freedom for themselves while denying freedoms for enslaved people, all white women, and even poor white men who did not own property. The system of government they setup was a selfish system meant to serve themselves.

When you’re claiming we can do things like outlaw abortion, same sex marriage etc. based on what they wrote or said, it sure as hell does matter.

TampaZeke • 2 hours ago

What made them unique and distinguishable was their hypocrisy. The fact that the same person who eloquently wrote about “unalienable human rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” at the very same time enslaved human beings.

In 1772 a court of law in England declared that slavery had no force in English Common Law. The same law that governed the colonies.

Just putting that out there…

They knew it was wrong then and they still did it. It was wrong to enslave others in their bible but they still did it. They even argued about slavery when making up the constitution and they knew it was wrong and still allowed it.

TRUTH is TRUTH and they are erasing our history and truths

Trump Judge Temporarily Blocks LGBTQ Protections

The New York Times reports:

A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked the Biden administration from enforcing directives that extended civil rights protections to L.G.B.T.Q. students and workers. The ruling comes roughly one year after a group of 20 conservative state attorneys general filed a lawsuit against two federal agencies for their interpretation of the 1972 landmark civil rights statute known as Title IX.

The lawsuit filed by Herbert H. Slatery III, the attorney general of Tennessee, and joined by 19 other states contended that the government infringed on states’ powers to regulate their public workplaces and schools. The judge, Charles E. Atchley Jr. of Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, an appointee of former President Donald J. Trump, sided with the plaintiffs.

I will never forget the word of a Justice Department Attorney telling me on the phone, that he wasn’t going to WASTE Tax dollars on holding those accountable for taking down our US mailbox to harass us. He also told me I had not Civil Rights. This was in the late 80’s
When are these fucks going to realize that every aspect of being a good citizen is expected of us, including paying for admission to a private club we can never enter. Like paying for groceries we can’t eat.
As they do it with such ease.

It’s fascinating to me that the same red states which demand the authority to self-govern without having to follow federal directives are the same states which prevent county and local governments from self-governing in ways which deviate from how the state officials want them to behave.

Red governors issued directives prohibiting cities from enacting COVID mask requirements. Red governors issued bans on local restroom ordinances which supported gender identifies. Red governors prevented cities from enacting local bans on fracking and drilling. Etc, etc.

Mother Tells Harrowing Story To Get Her Teenage Daughter An Abortion

A mother from Missouri calls in to tell the story of how she had to quickly cross state lines to get her teenage daughter an abortion before Roe v Wade was overturned.

Lobbying Group Rebrands As A Church To Hide Their Corruption

Right-wing think tank and political pressure group Family Research Council has abandoned its nonprofit status to save some tax dollars and is now filing with the IRS as a church. The group’s leader, Tony Perkins, is a former state lawmaker and ordained minister who takes responsibility for the Republican’s rightward push since the turn of the century and also serves as the ‘church’s religious leader’. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian discuss on The Young Turks.

Read more HERE: https://www.rawstory.com/family-resea…

“The Family Research Council’s multimillion-dollar headquarters sit on G Street in Washington, D.C., just steps from the U.S. Capitol and the White House, a spot ideally situated for its work as a right-wing policy think tank and political pressure group.

From its perch at the heart of the nation’s capital, the FRC has pushed for legislation banning gender-affirming surgery; filed amicus briefs supporting the overturning of Roe v. Wade; and advocated for religious exemptions to civil rights laws. Its longtime head, a former state lawmaker and ordained minister named Tony Perkins, claims credit for pushing the Republican platform rightward over the past two decades.

What is the FRC? Its website sums up the answer to this question in 63 words: “A nonprofit research and educational organization dedicated to articulating and advancing a family-centered philosophy of public life. In addition to providing policy research and analysis for the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the federal government, FRC seeks to inform the news media, the academic community, business leaders, and the general public about family issues that affect the nation from a biblical worldview.”

In the eyes of the Internal Revenue Service, though, it is also a church, with Perkins as its religious leader.” ***

QAnon/GOP Senate Candidate Charged With Filing False Report Of Child Trafficking At Maryland Adult Bookstore

The republicans of today have no decency or sense of decorum.   They don’t live in reality, they make stuff up and lie as well as they breath.   They are gang thugs who think winning at any cost is the goal.   If it harms those they don’t like that is a plus benefit for them.   We can not let these people take over the government, we must vote Democrat in the midterm elections no matter what.   We have to have a functioning government for the people, not an oligarchy that uses government to produce their profit at the expense of the public.   Hugs

Baltimore’s CBS affiliate reports:

Ryan Dark White, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Maryland under the name Jon McGreevey, has been arrested and charged with filing a false report after he allegedly told law enforcement an adult bookstore in Edgewood was forcing a young girl to perform sex acts on men, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office now says the story was made up. “It is shameful that a candidate for public office would make up such a story and use it to further his own political agenda,” said Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey R. Gahler.

In April, a tipster provided information to detectives with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office that a man and a young girl between, 10-12 years old, entered an adult bookstore in the 3000 block of Pulaski Highway and the child was forced to perform sex acts on male customers, police said.

Law & Crime reports:

Sheriff Gahler added, “It is even more appalling that another individual, who is running for a law enforcement position, would embrace such an obviously false narrative in an effort to gain political traction – nothing more.” This swipe is apparently aimed at Andy Kuhl, who is running for Baltimore County sheriff as a Republican.

Kuhl told Law&Crime in an email that in his opinion, this was as political smear campaign against White–whom he called McGreevey–ahead of the upcoming primary.

In a statement, he called him a credible informant, told Law&Crime he showed up to the July 7 interview unannounced on White’s behalf, and accused detectives of strange behavior, such as messages about there being good news in the case. He told Law&Crime on the phone that he did not respond to those messages.

White/McGreevey reportedly told police that he was working at the bookstore as part of an undercover drug sting. That’s him with Kuhl in the video below.

It is okay for Republicans to go around with two names, the one they have on official records and one they chose for themselves, a nickname or whatever they’re more comfortable using.

A trans person choosing a name for themselves?
Oh, no that can’t be allowed. It would be “confusing”. It goes against someone else’s religious beliefs. I’ve even seen it said that trans people changing their names snarls up the legal system, somehow making it impossible to conduct a complete criminal background check if or when necessary to do so..

Sanders: Manchin Purposely Sabotages Biden’s Agenda

I watched the interview in real time.   The host kept cutting him off.   She did not want him to point out it was a deliberate attempt to sabotage the Biden term and she tried to stop Sanders from talking about how Manchin rakes in big money from donors to deny the public any benefits.   Sanders explained how Manchin’s game is to draw everything out then kill it then let it start to repeat his prior actions.   draw it out and delay anything getting done.   He also explained that Manchin is not serious about cutting inflation just using it as a scare word because plans developed that he kills have all had things to cut inflation.   I am not sure if is is all money or if Manchin thinks he should be president or what, but he really wants to take down Biden and the Democrats.   I suspect it is because of the attempt to hold his daughter accountable for the horrific increase in price of the EpiPen when it shouldn’t have needed to be increased at all.   Hugs

“He has sabotaged the president’s agenda. No, look, if you check the record, six months ago, I made it clear that you have people like Manchin – Sinema to a lesser degree – who are intentionally sabotaging the president’s agenda, what the American people want, what a majority of us in the Democratic Caucus want.

“Nothing new about this. And the problem was that we continue to talk to Manchin like he was serious. He was not. This is a guy who is a major recipient of fossil fuel money, a guy who has received campaign contributions from 25 Republican billionaires.

“In my humble opinion, Manchin represents the very wealthiest people in this country, not working families in West Virginia or America.” – Sen. Bernie Sanders, this morning on ABC This Week.

soylocomoco • 15 hours ago

I don’t think it takes a lot of deep thinking to see that Bernie is right about Manchin. He claims to be working towards a compromise but never gets there. We need a ton of blue votes in the midterms to override him, and then kick him to the curb.

MTG: Non-Biological Parents Are “Fake Mom And Dad”

“So let’s talk about children. Children are in the greatest danger in America today because traditional family values are being destroyed.

“The idea that mom and dad together – not fake mom and fake dad, but biological mom and biological dad – can raise their children together and do what’s right for their children.

“Raising them to be confident in who they are and in their identity. Their identity that they’re a child by God.” – Marjorie Taylor Greene, speaking to far-right troll Alex Stein.

Stein first appeared on JMG in March 2022 for a deranged “assassinate Putin” rap before a Texas city council.

This week he made headlines for sexually harassing AOC on the steps of the Capitol. Since then he’s been rewarded with appearances on many right wing shows and podcasts. Like Greene, Stein is a COVID denialist.

And of course, that makes the Virgin Mary’s Joseph a fake dad too.

I’m sure there are parents–re-married widows and widowers, divorced and re-married, parents of adopted children, and a dozen other combinations of parents who are not biological–who would be happy to disagree with you, Marge. This is why you sound like such an idiot when you speak, dear.
