I was born Catholic and then dragged into Baptist churches after my father bailed on us. Later, my mom married a guy in the Chicago suburbs and I was dragged back into Catholic churches. After they divorced, I was forced to move to the deep south and once again attend Baptist churches. So naturally, I’m an atheist. During the 90s, my wife at the time wanted us to be churchgoers and me having my fill of Baptist churches, told her yes but only if we were Catholic. So, we gave that a spin for a year or so. Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, who is only 15, failed a drug test but will be allowed to compete anyway. Sure, the medication was a performance-enhancing drug, but it’s not like she’s a black athlete caught smoking pot.
Valieva may not be the bad guy in this as it’s possible she wasn’t even aware she was doped, but she may have wondered where all the new and sudden-found stamina and increase in her heart rate came from. Doping is common practice with the Russian Olympic team, so who knows. The defense here is that Valieva accidentally took her grandfather’s heart medication. I had to live with my grandmother for a few months when I was a child but I don’t recall ever accidentally taking Milk of Magnesia.

We fail our children in so many ways.
It’s time we put our money in heath care, child care, and prenatal care instead of feeding an endless war machine.
As I keep saying the major cause of inflation is price gouging and profit taking. Private business is sucking every cent they can from the lower incomes to the upper levels. They are going to keep doing it until there is nothing left to take. They are killing the golden goose for short term profit.

Seems to me the government of Canada is winning this situation not the truckers. The government has blocked the truckers funding, the government cleared the bridge, the government has the authority now to yank the commercial licenses, and the authority to seize the trucks.
Because the report on tRump clogging toilets and ripping up papers is collaborated. The Durham fantasy about Hillary is just a conspiracy rehash of spin attempts to validate tRump’s claim that the Mueller investigation was illegal. Durham did not file charges in his new filing, there was no new information. He is trying to charge the guy who provided the information to the FBI with lying to the FBI because he did not tell the FBI he once worked for Hillary and the FBI did not ask. The FBI did not ask him that, so how is not telling them a lie? Every lawyer I have heard on this says it is going to be laughed out of court if it ever gets to one. Durham made a 26 page report on a filing that should have been half a page. All so he could spin a misleading right wing tale.
Truth is not important. Smear, innuendo, and outright lies are necessary to outrage and disinform the public. This is the way to absolute power.
Amazing that after 30 years she is still their biggest boogieman. The right trots her out any time they need to deflect or distract knowing she is an easy way to enrage the base. The Durham filing added no new information. It was a screed of conspiracies designed to distract from a serious issue tRump has. Lawyers have publicly said the filing should have been half a page but Durham went on for 26 pages just to spin a misinformation tale. The crux of what Durham charged Michael Sussmann with is lying to the FBI by not answering a question the FBI never asked. Yes that is right, the FBI never asked him if he worked for Hillary as it was not important. It is going to be laughed out of court if it ever gets to one. Sussmann took information from some tech people on a bank from Moscow associated with Putin contacting a dedicated server in tRump Tower. He did not give them his life story, why would he. If you tell the bank about a bank robbery they don’t care if you ever had a bank account. So again an attempt to mislead and confuse, to muddy the water from the true criminal tRump by using a boogieman the right has demonized but never been able to prove did anything wrong.

School board Chair Rob Zandee says Osoyoos Secondary School and South Okanagan Secondary School in Oliver were targeted by protesters opposing vaccine mandates and COVID-19 restrictions Friday as students were leaving for the weekend.
“I have a fucking right to be in this country, do you?” a woman screams at a young woman of colour. “Are you telling me to go back home?” the student replies.
Later in the video, the woman screams a sexist slur [JMG: “cunt”] at that same student. “You’re literally arguing with children,” someone else can be heard yelling as the woman walks away.

Grade 11 student Kai Allen says she and her classmates became aware of the protests around 2:15 p.m. PT, when the convoy, consisting of cars and trucks decorated with flags and anti-mandate slogans, arrived outside.
Allen says several students approached the protesters to find out why they were there, and the conversation turned into an argument about public safety measures.
A woman identified by RCMP as Silke Schulze of Oliver, B.C., can be seen leaning toward the student and yelling. According to RCMP, Schulze has been fined $2,300 under the Access to Services COVID-19 Vaccination Act.

BELLEVUE, Wash. —King County Prosecutors say a man tried to attack a Bellevue restaurant worker with a meat cleaver after being asked to show proof of a Covid-19 vaccine.
Man attacks restaurant employee with meat cleaver over proof of COVID-19 vaccine{ }Investigators say Michael Dousa, 58, lunged at an Applebee’s bartender with a meat cleaver after he was asked to leave the Bellevue restaurant when he couldn’t provide proof of vaccination.
Detectives say when Dousa got outside the restaurant he was yelling and waving the knife around and when the bartender asked him to leave, police say Dousa went after him with the raised cleaver over his head.
Luckily the worker shut the door before he got hit.
“I don’t think violence is ever the answer,” said Levi Hudson who was going to Applebee’s. “I don’t think you should be violent because I think that is one of the most ridiculous things you can do. You’re not helping people by being violent.”
The Hudson siblings said it’s upsetting people still don’t understand the impact of the pandemic now.
“We’ve had family who has gotten sick and who has died from Covid,” said Angela Hudson. “It’s kind of frustrating to see people just come in and not wear a mask and be violent.”
Just a few weeks ago- prosecutors say Angela Nommensen was seen on surveillance video repeatedly refusing to wear her mask inside a gas station.
Investigators said when the clerk forced her outside, she pulled a gun on him.
Prosecutors said they are noticing a trend in these types of crimes.
“Maybe it’s because are so close to being at the end of the pandemic or they’re getting so frustrated and we’re not done, but either way when you pull a meat cleaver on somebody, when you pull a gun at a gas station and we can prove that case, you’re going to get charged for it,” said Casey McNerthney.
Dousa is now charged with felony assault. Monday Nommensen pleaded not guilty to felony harassment.
Prosecutors said Dousa committed this act while pending Assault in the Third Degree and Assault in the
Fourth Degree charges from July 18, 2021, out of Snohomish County. Dousa’s criminal history includes convictions for theft and harassment.
Dousa is locked up at the King County on a $75,000 bail.

While serving as Interior Department secretary under Donald Trump, Ryan Zinke broke federal ethics rules repeatedly by improperly participating in real estate negotiations with the chairman of the energy giant Halliburton at the time and other developers, according to a government official with knowledge of an inspector general investigation to be released Wednesday.
Interior Department IG Mark Greenblatt found that while Zinke was in office, he sent dozens of emails and text messages, held phone calls and met in his office with developers to discuss the design of a large commercial and residential development in his hometown of Whitefish, Mont. Now a leading candidate to win a newly-drawn congressional seat in Montana, Zinke also lied to an agency ethics official who questioned him about his involvement in the negotiations.

What we are witnessing is PRICE GOUGING, NOT INFLATION.
INFLATION is when business owners raise prices commensurate with higher costs to make ends meet.
But when corporations are reporting record all-time profits, raising prices is NOT INFLATION, it is PRICE GOUGING to capitalize on supply chain disruptions caused by a national emergency.
McDonald’s profits soared 59% in 2021, to $7.5 billion.
ExxonMobil reported a $8.9 billion in profits in the FOURTH QUARTER ALONE, while it was jacking up prices to new records.
Numerous other companies jacked up prices while raking in record profits in 2021.
Donald Trump crashed the economy, destroyed the supply chain, blew up international trade relations by imposing ridiculous tariffs that hurt farmers and consumers, mishandled a pandemic that exploded into a worldwide economic crisis and now as Biden is putting people back, restoring consumer confidence, which stimulates demand, but the devastation wrought by Trump on the supply chain is taking longer to undo, especially as anti-science right wing nut jobs continue to undermine recovery from the Trump plague.
If there were a hurricane, tornado, flood or wildfire and vendors were charging $20 for a bottle of water, they would be arrested. We need to see some of the corporate heads who have tripled their profits on the backs of consumers being frog-marched into the Big House.
