This candidate doesn’t even pretend to hedge her belief in this. Yet these same people in this same party are demanding these same teachers be armed to protect children even when the police cannot. All so they can keep their gun fetish. Because that is what it is if you reject common sense regulations, it is a fetish. The Republican party is / has become the party of hate and disinformation. These people think that teachers of the youngest grades are organizing gender swapping sex orgies. In their minds little kids are being made to strip off all their clothing and notice in every story they are always little boys, and then instructed in sexual acts. Some acts I doubt these Republicans really understand how they are done, maybe they should read up on it. Oh wait, those books are banned now aren’t they? These people really think this is going on, when teachers are underpaid, cannot get enough instruction time as it is, and cannot even get supplies to teach normal subjects. What did they read to give them this idea, the erotic fiction of Anne Rice? Do they think the kids have Only Fan accounts? Teachers have to be everything from mothers and nannies, to councilors, to instructors, mandatory reporters, child armed protectors, and so much more.
But beyond that what is the real point here? It is to ridicule the idea that if little johnny asks if it is OK for boys to get married or even kiss the teacher says yes two boys can love each other and move on with the lesson plan. If little Sally says someone has two mommies, the teachers say yes, some families are two mommies and move on with the lesson plan. The teacher taught acceptance of alternative non-heterosexual lifestyles instead of screaming no, no, no never boys must only marry girls and only kiss girls or the great sky daddy will destroy the planet! That is what terrifies the right and what they want to outlaw, so they have to make it as unpleasant and horrible as possible by changing it to the teacher telling the boys to line up, pull their pants down, and suck each other’s dicks.
The rabid right doesn’t want tolerance of other ideas than their own extreme traditionalist religious ideas to be taught to kids. They don’t want kids to be taught that people can be of different religions and it is OK, that people can have different kinds of families and it is OK, that two boys or two girls can fall in love and it is OK. That calling a person by a different pronoun is the right thing if they ask you to do so, and it is OK. No, they demand we indoctrinate kids that an impossible global flood happened, that the earth is only 6 thousand years old despite the evidence, that god created a man and woman from dirt just as they are, magic is real and good when our god does it, and evil and bad when someone else’s god does it or a human does it.
They want their bible to be the new textbooks and their religion to be what all society and understanding to be based on. Anything else is indoctrination and child abuse. They are violent thugs that are willing to use threats and intimidation to get their way while claiming they are victims of cancel culture who are not allowed to get their racist bigoted hate speech out to the public. I am done with these people and this party who have members sitting in congress spouting this stuff and refusing to disavow it. They are the US Taliban! When a conservative like Trump or Kavanaugh or Gaetz is credibly accused of sexual assault by numerous victims, Republicans wail that they are being slandered by the politics of personal destruction, but these same people think nothing about slandering anyone and everyone with the most heinous accusations completely ungrounded by evidence.
And almost every major religious institution in the world has either been rocked by major pedophilia scandals or is so insular and repressive that their scandals are still buried, but they want to accuse public schools of grooming children for sexual exploitation?
Here is a theory. Since much of sex education in elementary school involves giving children the tools to avoid sexual predators, perhaps the reason these conservative religious groups and Q cultists are so opposed to it is because it makes things harder for them.

Hello LB. Well said, I agree. I have often wondered the same as you. Recently in one of the southern states Republican members blocked a sex education program at the behest of religious leaders because it did not specifically teach that parents were always right and that kids must obey anything the parent tells them to do. No exceptions. That is exactly your point. In another state that wanted to raise the age of being able to marry a religious group managed to block it because they felt there should be a parent approved religious exemption so that girls as young as 12 could be married to older men. That is about the age in the bible their mother of god Mary was as I understand it. Hugs

Hello Roger. I had to look that one up. WOW, and there are people who take that as serious and real? The blurbs I read all said fictional meeting, fictional meeting of … I guess when you hate someone that much for no reason you would believe any nefarious thing about them. I guess I am weird in that I have never understood bigotry and racism. I can understand not liking a particular action or a government or specific person, but I don’t understand prejudice. I would hope no one would hold me responsible for what white supremacists do or say, labeling me on just because I was white. I guess because ever since I was a kid even before puberty, I heard that people who gay / homosexual were flaming queens. I knew I was gay and not like that. So it ingrained in me to not believe in stereotypes. But I guess the people who are racist bigots don’t like to spend much time reasoning things out. Same with conspiracy believers, they attribute to malice what could just as easily be stupidity. Hugs

Bigots and Conspiracy junkies are two groups which tend to raise a bit of a red mist with me. I have tried reasonable discourse, but you either get lectured or accused of something. Annnnd I tend to give as good as I get (Welsh y’see…firey lot).
Actually you’re not weird at all, most normal folk don’t get it, which is good. Getting to see that cause of the mindset without getting furious with them is hard work, and usually there are layers.
To me the only permissible intolerance is intolerance of intolerance.
Bigotry is subtle too I heard usually quite normal, affable folk inadvertently make what are quite bigoted remarks when discussing political matters.
