Rodney Dangerfield Has Dom DeLuise Rolling On the Floor Laughing (1974)

On July 3rd, 1974, Rodney Dangerfield made an appearance on the Tonight Show and had fellow guest, Dom DeLuise, laughing the entire time. 2:05 “I live in a tough neighborhood. Just last week, a guy pulled a knife on me. I could see it wasn’t a real professional job… there was butter on it.” 2:30 “I tell ya, in my building there’s nothing but robberies. Everytime I close a window, I hit somebody’s hands.” 4:00 “I went out last week, I tried something new. I tried group sex. Now I have a new problem… I don’t know who to thank.”

    1. Hello Michael. His timing was so spot on. I think of how long he must have worked on having those responses ready and practiced his delivery of them. Today if you watch an interview they are not funny like this. I watched one with Vincent Price and he kept using double entendres like he would be talking about deboning fish and would slip in he was married so many times he could bone anything. Hugs

    1. Hello Keith. I spent a few hours watching Carol Burnet and other old time comedians. They had a style and wit with improv and timing that is lacking with modern comedians. I compare this interview with a current one on the Late Show or other late night show. It is almost scripted and the talk is all meaningless drivel to sell a movie. Hugs
