  1. If schools allow teachers to arm themselves, then, there are, bound to be, even more, shootings in schools, and an, influx in the number of, fatalities by guns per year that’s for sure.

  2. Folk who think armed teachers are the answer, might consider that in a situation where an armed and volatile assailant enters a school, and panic breaks out that not every adult and child is going to act from a script prepared by a screen writer.
Also there is this pesky concept of ‘friendly fire’

    1. YES! Your comment about friendly fire is so spot-on … and something that is purposefully and carefully never mentioned by the gun-nuts. It continues to astound me how few people are aware of the true dangers of a gun in the hands of untrained/unqualified individuals.

      1. I personally admit not to having a problem with shooters who attack schools being taken out. However, leave it to those who are trained.
If you go to YouTube and see the 5 minutes of Nashville police at the Covent School shooting, there is the stark reality of the removal of a shooter in what is in effect an urban warfare situation.
Is a civilian inexperienced in these pressures and basically untrained expected to act as these officers?
They would probably stand a better chance throwing chairs, fire off a hand gun while scared and fearful for children.
A terrorist in London was confounded and delayed by members of the public resorting to what came to hand, before armed and trained police arrived.
