I have a rainbow flag in my front yard…directly under my American flag. Kids know they can come here and be safe, that I have contacts for them in this community where they can share and be safe. There isn’t a day that goes by without one or more teens showing up and asking for help of some sort. My neighbors didn’t understand when I first flew the flag, so I educated them as to what I KNOW…that ALL kids are valuable and have the right to be safe from violence. Now two more are flying a rainbow flag, help kids and send them to safe spaces. It takes education and empathy…something that Southerners have in abundance once their own prejudice is called out. Keep educating people Scotty. It is NOT in vane.
