The platform was voted on Saturday, with tallies expected next week. Other planks call abortion homicide and gender-transition care “child abuse.”

    1. Hi Suze. I just struggle to understand how the Texas republicans got so extreme. Even ten years ago these items would not have been acceptable to most republicans. These are basically fundamentalist theocratic goals and wishes. Again it shows how wealthy people are pushing society against the wishes of the people. It also shows how desperate the aging shrinking white population is struggling to maintain power and authority over the rest of society / public. They are desperate not to let society change and become more inclusive. They want it to remain as they liked it, as it was for them. Even the young have been convinced by their elders that the 1950s were the golden years of society. We all know that was a lie, but it is what they preach. A time of white male superiority, no LGBTQ+, no black / brown people in authority. Kids had no rights, the music was what the white adults enjoyed. Everyone did what the white people liked and treated white people with respect even when they did not deserve it. That is what they want back, what they are demanding. Hugs. Scottie

  1. They say they struggle to get their platform enacted as law for the entire state, but I’d say they’ve done a great deal of what they call for; hence the even more radical calls.

Sheesh. And Democrats worry about an equality plank in the party platform, which is not law by any stretch. Sheesh.

    1. Hi Ali. I agree. Republicans think compromise is a dirty word. Republicans seem to think the only acceptable deal is one they get all they are asking for and democrats apologize for not giving it to them faster. That is why I say for these republicans and fundamentalist Christians you can not try to placate them by giving them some of that they want. Because they are never satisfied. They always demand more and that everything be just as they demand. They think that they are the victim if they only get 80% of things their way, they are butt hurt if they don’t get the entire 100% and then they ask for more. Hugs. Scottie
